Chapter Twelve: Investigating

(A/N: holy crap this chapter is over 3000 words! This is the longest one yet! So buckle up and get ready!!)

"What... How... Why is Taro..." Amy stuttered, shocked.

Alarm. Alarm. Alarm.

Dead body found in Gymnasium. Found by Masane Kioyoko and Amy Hornhoff.

Report to the Gymnasium immediately.

The door banged open behind them revealing the remaining students...

Except Yumiyo of course. She's still in their room.

"What happened! I was reading when the water..." Masahira trailed off when he saw the dead body of their friend on the floor.

His eyes widened. "Taro?"

Everyone stood shocked. Until Shizuka walked forward to his friend. Shizuka dropped to his knees, sobbing. He reached out to grab his friend and give a hug, whispering how he was sorry he couldn't save Taro.

"Oh no... Does this mean the killing game has begun?" Kochi typed in her wrist translator.

"I think that's pretty fucking obvious!" Kougyoku muttered.

"Wait... where's Yumiyo?" Kenho looked around.

"She was tired so I left her in our room to sleep. That was before I found Amy and..."

And we found Taro's body...

"So, the girl who can easily do kung fu was left alone and a body got found?" Suga asked.

"Now wait a moment. That's not fair. You were nowhere to be found either."

"I don't know how to freaking break people's bones!"

"Everyone hush." Fuuko commanded and everyone stared at her. She switched her eyes left to right and sighed. "We're not alone."

"Haha finally noticed, eh?"

They all spun around to see the robotic kitsune hovering near Taro's body, poking him.

"Wowww. He looks like shit."

"Get away from him!" Shizuka screamed and ran to tackle the animal. But before he could get too far, Toshika grabbed him and made it impossible for him to continue.

"Let go of me! He's the reason my best friend is dead!"

"I know how you feel but remember the last time someone used violence with it?"

He went silent, tears streaming down his face.

"Thanks for that, Lion Queen. Much appreciated. Now... it's time to start!"

"Start? Start what, you cretin?!" Masahira shouted.

"Why, the investigation of Taro Chuda of course! How else are you gonna find out who whacked him?"

"Now... take this, fuckheads!"

Masane was thrown something and caught it. It was a file inside a manilla folder.

"What's this for?"

"This is information about the victim no one found out ANNNND information regarding his death."

"You'll get one before each trial. So look it over and start investigating!"

With a final cackle to everyone, Shockbolt disappeared, leaving the students all alone. Some crying, some praying... some silent.
