Yumiyo was always blind, ever since she was born. Her mother was almost nonexistent in her life, ever since she was dissatisfied with her daughter's defect...

Until one day she left.

Her father, embarrassed by the mockery his daughter had caused, began to completely ignore her. If he didn't notice a problem, it wouldn't exist in his eyes.

So Jero had become her only Parental figure. Which is why Jero had completely freaked out by the incident in middle school when Yumiyo was pushed out of the window on the second floor.

After such an event, Yumiyo was forced into private at home schooling.  Although the only time her father took pride in her was when she competed in game challenges, earning prestige amongst even the most experienced players.

However after the events, she'd be locked away so not even Jero could get in. She was given the smallest of food, stunting her growth horribly. Her father's excuse was to become more childlike and fool her opponents.

Yumiyo was becoming so tired. Tired, hungry and alone.

The only interaction she had was with Jero and her tutor, so she had close to no human contact. She looked forward to the letters people sent her from seeing her play internationally.

Until one day, Jero brought her a letter and read it to her. And her eyes, unseeing, lit up.

Maybe she could finally make a friend?
