Kutsumi had always been friendly to everyone with a bubbly persona to match. Everyone always loved her... well maybe not everyone.
In middle school, Kutsumi had gained weight, making her much heavier than the others with acne as well. However she never minded it as she was a very carefree individual.
However plenty of insecure girls at school took it upon themselves to make her hate herself with her own self image.
Unfortunately for them though, it never seemed to work. She was much too happy about herself and thought everyone as beautiful.
This upset them so one day, they cornered her in the bathroom. She attempted to politely excuse herself but they wouldn't let her pass. They kept pushing her until her back was to the sink.
As she began to defend herself, she was attacked by the bigger girls and turned around, having her head submerged into the water. She could hear the other girls cheer the bully on as it became harder and harder to breathe...
Just as she felt faint and near passing out, a different pair of hands wrenched the bully away, helping Kutsumi up.
She looked up through teary red eyes and saw a muscled girl her age, with scars on her face and arms and wild black hair.
The new girl quickly scared the bullies off and picked Kutsumi up, making promises that everything would be ok. After Kutsumi was able to breathe properly again, the girl introduced herself...

And when Kutsumi got home, she went to work on making herself beautiful so she'd impress the bulky girl.
Afterwards she went into hair and makeup and was widely known for it. Without much time passing, she was being sent a letter to invite her to a school.
She was about to decline but remembered Toshika was going there too and that was all it took for Kutsumi to make up her mind.
