Chapter Seven: Reassurance

"Whatcha mean, princess?"

"I mean, no matter what is offered to us, clearly has a catch. Food and other survival means are only offered in exchange of your 'killing game entertainment,' so what's the catch in letting us talk to our families?"

"Ain't you a smart cookie? Well lemme tell ya! You guys can't obviously alert your families about yer situation, but of course they need to hear from you guys or it'd raise suspicion. So whose up first?"

Kougyoku, of course, pushed her way to the front and sneered. "Better be me, little runt."

"Ok, just remember, no talking about your school life or you'll be the next real life human lightbulb!"

"Yeah, yeah. Just show me where I can call em."

"Right this way!"

The two of them walked off, leaving the rest of the group to speak privately.

"Ok, before the witch herself comes back I just thought I'd ask now. It's pretty obvious, Kougyoku has a target set on Yumiyo, right?" Masane speaks up.

Everyone nodded, even Yumiyo.

"And it's clear that she's got a vendetta against her and is gonna keep trying to hurt her so to limit her chances of hurting Yumiyo, I'd like to invite Yumiyo to bunk with me in my room."

Everyone gasps, the loudest being the frail girl in question.

"Really?"

"Yes. It's very clear to me that not only her own bigotry is making her bully you but her rivalry with me. You're not gonna be safe in your own room."

"That's all fine and dandy, but what if you decide to kill her?" Suga piped up.

"What?"

"We're in a killing game, remember? Anyone here could already be planning a murder of their own. Who's to say it's not you?"

"That's fair reasoning. However if I wanted to kill someone, why would I announce who I'll be rooming with?"

"I don't know, I've never been involved in something like this!"

"Well, in the end, the choice is up to Yumiyo and Masane." Fuuko determined.

"What do you say, Yumiyo? Do you want to bunk with me in my dorm room?"

Yumiyo smiled widely, showing dimples on her cheeks before nodding vigorously. "I would absolutely love that!"

"Alright. Sounds like its decided. Yumiyo and Masane will be rooming together for the unknown future." Kochi translated.

"Thank you very much, miss Kioyoko!" With that Yumiyo hobbled over to where Masane sat and engulfed the scientist in a bear hug of her own.

"No problem sweetie. This is probably really scary, especially for you, huh?"

"A little bit... but thank you for helping me. Not many people would."

Masane gave a crooked smile before saying "Well I'm not most people."

With that, the bull rider and Shockbolt walked back in. Kougyoku, though sneering, looked relieved.

"Ok short stuff, you're up!"

Yumiyo frowned. "Me?"

"Yeppers! You're up, then princess over there."

"Would it be alright if she came with?"

"Hell I don't care if she comes with you to take a piss. Just hurry up!"

"Why do those two have to be attached at the hip?" Kougyoku rolled her eyes.
