In the weeks that passed, I hadn't made much progress with 'uncovering my past' or whatever I was calling it now.
Maybe it was because I'd gotten scared. Every part of me yearned to find out who this child was, where they were- if I could see them again, but the likelihood of me finding them anytime soon was waning, as was my positivity.
So I busied myself with work, alternating between the cafe and patrols with Scarfy.
In the time I had free, I was struggling to sleep as of a nagging feeling in the back of my mind. It was as if my brain was telling me that something was going to happen soon. I found myself fidgeting every time I tried to rest, my brain whirring at every moment of the day.
But for the sake of myself and others, I had to keep a positive face. I didn't need anyone worrying about me, let alone myself. It would just make things worse.
So I was grateful for the call I got in the starting weeks of September- something about a mission I was needed for at Pro-hero Nighteye's agency. Turns out Shota got one too, so we arrived side by side, both sharing the feelings of shock brought upon us by the number of heroes in the agency building.
"How big is this mission?" My eyes grazed over a multitude of familiar faces, as well as those I had yet to be acquainted with.
"It's safe to say something important is happening for all these heroes to be called here," he replied.
I could feel that nagging feeling in the back of my mind growing stronger and I kept on pushing it back, tapping my fingers against the side of my leg whilst we waited to be called into the meeting.
"Are you okay?"
"Hm?" I looked up at Shota and quickly waved my hands, "Yeah, no I'm fine, don't worry about me."
"Y/n, you know if-"
"Mr Aizawa? Y/n? What are you doing here?"
We both turned to see Uraraka and Tsuyu walk toward us.
What are they doing here?
"We got called in last-minute," Shota answered for the both of us.
"Were you guys called in as well?" I asked, regarding them with curiosity.
"I think we're here for our hero work training." Tsuyu said, making me turn to look at Shota with furrowed brows.
"You've got first years doing hero training work?"
He shrugged in response, making me sigh and shake my head, "Not one for words today?"

"Thanks to all of you, our investigation has improved substantially."
I was sat in between Shota and Gran Torino at a large square table formation, Sir Nighteye at the head of the tables, explaining the reason for this meeting.
"In this conference, we will share the information we have gathered on the yakuza group: Shie Hassaikai and what we believe they have been planning."
Bubble girl, one of Nighteye's sidekicks stepped forward, ready to brief us on all the information they had.
She went over the details of the case, the leads they had uncovered, the growth of the Shie Hassaikai group and their business dealings, all while this feeling of dread started to crawl up my spine.
I snapped back into focus as the idea of quirk-erasing bullets came into the conversation.
Fatgum began to talk, "Kirishima here deflected one of the bullets with his hardening quirk, giving us a sample of the bullet. What we found in it disgusted me- the analysis determined that the bullet contained human blood and cells."
