The buzzer signalling the opening of the gates sounded and I took my seat behind the glass.

"Big sis, fancy seeing you here. Congrats on your early retirement, gonna work on the cafe or something now?"

"That's the plan."

"Wanna send me some food?"

"I know what you did Kitsu," I said, ignoring her question.

She rolled her eyes, "If this is another lecture-"

"You wanted me to visit you, I can leave if you want."

"No... it's fine... go ahead big sis."

"I know what happened last year, Eri told me."

Kitsu was silent, the only attempt at communication she made was a slow nod.

"Why didn't you want me to remember?" I asked.

"Your smart, I'm pretty sure you've already worked it out."

"I think I have, I just... want to hear it from you."

Kitsu hung her head slightly, "She felt abandoned."

"She reminded you of yourself."

"I was the one who put her in that situation. All I wanted to do was get rid of you, I didn't plan on everything else- that was his idea, the Librarian, the one who can read futures through books. He told me that he had a plan to make your life a misery and it was set to go perfectly, I kinda just, jumped in on the ride."

"The ride?" I scoffed.

"Oh come on you know I don't mean it like that- a figure of speech and all that."

"Yeah, yeah, so, the Librarian? The dude who can read futures, what's his deal?" I asked, thinking that maybe this would explain Sawako's involvement as well.

"Big guy, 'collects lost souls' I guess." She said making air quotes.

"You call yourself a lost soul?"

She stared at me, completely unimpressed, "I'm trying to help you here."

"Yeah, about that: why?"

"We have this kind of love-hate relationship big sis, right now, I don't want to kill you."

"Charming."

"Look, what you need to know is that he used you for the connections, asked me about your quirk I said- well actually I didn't say anything I was a 1-year old in a 40-year olds body, took a lot of getting used to. Anyways, he was like, cool, cool, very nice, would like to use that. Oh, and he got some guy to spy on you as well." She flicked her forehead, "Oh god, what's his name...?"

"Sawako?"

"Yes! And no, that's his middle name. Never liked the guy, he was boring and bland."

"Like tepid bathwater," I mumbled.

"Exactly like tepid bathwater! See this is why I sometimes don't want to kill you."

"Thank you...?"

Kitsu smiled, "You're welcome."

I nodded, making a mental note of every little bit of information I had just been given. "So is the Librarian guy still looking for me or something?"

"Oh no," She laughed, "He's long gone, died from old age about a year ago."

"So, there's no trouble anymore?"

"Except for me? None that I can think of."

"And Sawako was literally just a spy?"

"Correctamundo."

"So you really just told me that for...?"

"Tying up a plot point."

"A plot point?"

She waved her hands, "Forget it, you wouldn't understand. Fujioka would though," Kitsu looked off to the side, a look of complete wonder and admiration crossing her face.

"Who?"

Probably someone else to worry about.

Her head snapped back toward me, a serious look back on her face like she was almost disgusted to see me, nothing too new, "No one," she tapped a finger against her chin almost comically, "kind of looks like you, y'know, but anyway you know what you know, do with it what you want."

"You were... Surprisingly helpful today," I nodded slowly, "except for that," I mumbled the last bit.

"Aren't I always?"

"No," I said bluntly, staring her down.

Kitsu put her hands up in fake surrender, "Sheesh, calm down."

I tried rather forcefully to hide the smirk that formed on my face, "You're not as heartless as you try to be Kitsu."

"Lies!"

Shaking my head, I pushed up from my chair, "Bye, little sis."

"Bye big sis."
