The man wasn't in his hero costume anymore, just a pair of black jeans and a black baggy jumper with his long hair falling in front of his face, but after literally just seeing his photo on the news article Yuri showed me, it was pretty obvious it was him. I watched as he walked past, ignoring my question as to if he wanted a menu.
"Told you." I looked at my friend, "what an ass."
She giggled.
"I guess I should give him a menu?" I picked one up and begrudgingly walked toward him.
"Sir? Can I offer you a menu?"
The man didn't respond yet again, refusing to even look up at me.
"You know, I don't see any point coming into a café if you're not going to order anything."
Nothing.
Only to realise the man was passed out cold.
If this guy was so tired why didn't he just go home and sleep or something? It's a Sunday, it's not like he has to go to work, so why has he decided to fall asleep here of all places?
Is he homeless or something?
I spun around, "he's just fallen asleep!" I complained.
Yuri giggled again.
"Well, I'm glad at least one of us finds this amusing." I returned behind the counter just as the timer went off and took out the baked treat.
They were perfectly golden, just the way my Paps used to make them. The crusts were caramelised just right and the smell made both Yuri and I's mouths water.
"Oh my god that smells so good," Yuri exclaimed and quickly took a bit off the closest piece of toast to her.
"Hey!" I tried to slap her hand away but not before she threw the piece in her mouth.
"You're going to regret that, it's boiling hot." I cautioned, fully aware that it was already too late as my blue-haired friend was fanning her mouth in an attempt to cool it down.
"Tch, idiot." I gave her my best 'told you so' look to which she just swallowed her food. "You didn't even wait for the syrup."
"I'm hungry!"
I waved her off, she'd been through a lot in the past few hours and the least I could do was to let her take the food before it was done- even if it pained me to do so.
I heard the door open again and saw the familiar face of Jon, a regular for a few months now.
"Hiya Jonny! Want the usual?"
He smiled, "Course I would Y/N." Taking a seat at the bar he looked at Yuri shovelling the freshly baked food into her mouth and stuck up a conversation. I turned to the coffee machine and started Jon's order, glancing over at Scarfy who was no longer actually wearing the scarf that I had previously seen attack a man.
I decided to make a drink for him as well- black coffee? He seemed like he needed something strong.
"Didn't expect you to be open this early." Jon enquired.
"Me neither, but someone over here wanted honey toast." I looked at Yuri who apologetically smiled, mouth full of food. "Why're you here so early?" I asked Jon whilst placing his drink in front of him.
He pulled out a pack of cigarettes at shook them, "the wife wants me to stop, so I've had to leave earlier to pick some up."
"Maybe you should listen to your wife." I chucked, and walked over to Scarfy, putting the black coffee down in front of him.
It was almost like just the smell stirred him and he grunted a 'thanks' whilst taking the biggest sip I'd ever seen.

By the time Jon had left, the café was becoming more full with people coming in to get their breakfast although Mr Eraser head, who had gone through at least 3 coffees now, hadn't moved from his spot.
Yuri had started to help me wait tables as I got a call from Uraraka saying she might be late for her shift because she hadn't finished all her set homework. I'd heard her starting to panic over the phone and calmly told her that it was fine and she didn't have to come in today which she quickly responded by saying she would stay later next weekend to clean up. She obviously didn't need to, but I had smiled at the sentiment.
"Hey, Y/N, did you hear about that attempted robbery downtown?" I heard someone at the counter ask.
"Hm? Oh yeah, it involved that 8-armed guy didn't it?" I replied.
"Yeah, kinda scary if you ask me. But at least they didn't get away with it."
"I heard it took two heroes to take them down." I heard someone else join in the conversation.
The good part about my night job was that no one really knew who I was- except for Yuri and my old classmates from Isamu Academy. I didn't really want my two jobs clashing- seemed like it would just get in the way, so I just listened to the conversation, making comments every time I saw fit.
Just as the topic of who exactly took down the 8-armed man came up, Scarfy appeared in front of me at the counter.
"Ready to pay sleepyhead?" I chuckled.
He didn't look too amused by that, "how much?"
I rang up his total, continuing to listen to the other conversation still happening.
"I think it was some underground heroes." A man stated.
"I heard one of them was a right asshole." I joined in knowing that I would get a dig in at the tired man who seemed to have it in for me last night.
"At least he did his job." Scarfy piped up in his now-familiar monotone voice.
"Yes, but it wouldn't hurt if people were a bit nicer." I patted the bill I just placed in front of him.
He looked at me, an unreadable expression on his face.
I looked back to my regulars happily talking about something completely different now and by the time I turned around the guy was gone, with the exact change he owed placed on top of the bill.
