I woke up screaming, my hands once again reaching for my stomach.

Knock knock.

"Who the hell?" I mumbled, walking up to the door.

Knock knock knock.

The knocks became slightly faster. Slightly frantic.

I unlocked the door, "Jeez, calm down."

I looked up.

"Shota?"

"Are you ok?" He looked at me.

"Urm... yeah? Why?"

"I heard screaming." He said matter of factly.

I laughed. It was cold and harsh but I tried to play it off. "Yeah, Hawks just posted a new Instagram pic."

"You're a terrible liar."

I sighed, "You're right, he's not really my type anyway."

He quirked an eyebrow. "Isn't he everyone's type?"

I chuckled, "Eh, I don't know, I'm into taller guys."

He chuckled.

"Oh my god! You just laughed!" I pointed frantically at his face which immediately returned to his usual expressionless one.

"You just changed the subject."

"You didn't stop me. You know I think Hawks works nearby, we could try to get you in and you could strike up a conversation. I better be your maid of honour when you guys get married."

"Why were you screaming." He ignored me.

"What are you doing outside my cafe at god knows what hour in the morning? See, I can ask questions too- and anyways, it doesn't matter, I'm not screaming anymore, am I? Who do you think I am? Present Mic?"

"Fine. Why did you scream?"

I groaned. "Nightmare."

Why did I tell him that?

Did he look... sympathetic?

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Maybe. Coffee?"

I walked over to the coffee machine and turned it on taking out 2 cups.

"You look like you need it."

"So do you."

I gasped in mock offence.

"Do you want me to tell you what my nightmare was about or what?"

He sighed, "I'm not going to make you if you don't want to."

I want to.

I turned to look him in the eyes, "I want to."

He nodded and it reassured me. A warm feeling spread through me.

Why does he make me feel like that?

"Wh-"

"AIZAWAAAAA!"

A loud voice made me jump, spilling hot black coffee over myself.

"SHIT!" I shouted, not even close to matching the volume of the man who just walked through the door.

"Idiot," Shota mumbled. "Are you ok?" He stood up and handed me a towel.

"Yeah, didn't think the coffee would be waking me up this way, but this works. Thanks." I took the hand towel. It wasn't the most helpful considering my clothes had already absorbed most of the liquid but it was a kind gesture.
