"You took your sweet time."
I ignored her and sat down, cross-legged on the floor, staring at a spot on the wall just left of her face.
"What, we're not talking anymore, did I really hit a nerve?"
I said nothing once more, closing my eyes in an attempt to think of something to get out of here.
Perhaps it was sheer willpower.
Perhaps I just had to really want it.
But I did want it.
God, I wanted it so badly.
I drowned out Kitsu's words and gradually opened my eyes.
"Can you use your quirk?"
"Are you dumb? You literally saw me try and fail to use it."
"Did you try hard enough?"
She shrugged, "I did what I usually do."
"And what's that?"
"Say what I want to happen."
"Really? There isn't anything else you do?"
She gave me a questioning look, "No."
"What about visualising? Ever done that?"
"What is this? 20 questions?" Kitsu queried.
A pain shot through my head, fleeting, yet sharp. Similar to the ones I usually had when I was near the end of my quirk usage- though this time, we were stuck, so what would happen if I stayed here for too long?
I didn't want to think about that, I had to get back. So whatever the impending consequences threatened to be, I decided to ignore them, letting it fuel my determination to get out instead.
"It's as many questions that I have to ask before I figure out how we're getting out of here."
"This is your plan? Why do you need my quirk to get out? My quirk doesn't stick people in limbo last time I checked."
"We're stuck here because you gave me that 'present' actually, so it might have more to do with you than you think." I retorted.
I heard the faint mumble of her speaking under her voice.
"What?" Looking at her, I noticed something flicker in her eyes.
"I'm just thinking... If we get out of here, you're going to send me to prison, aren't you?"
"Are you seriously asking me that question? After everything you've done?"
"You could've just said yes."
"Yes."
Kitsu let her head fall back and sighed, "I'll try visualising or whatever. I want to be trapped here just as much as you do."
"... Thank you," I muttered, just loud enough for her to hear.
"You're extremely, very much welcome."
Her childish mannerisms still got me sometimes, how old was she really? 21 I think.
I'd really stolen her youth just like that, she didn't get to grow up the way I did. Maybe that was why she acted like this.
She had to mature so quickly and it was all because of my lack of control.
"Kitsu?"
"What do you want? I'm busy trying to visualise things."
"If you had a chance to grow up, properly this time... would you do it?"
The question seemed to take her by surprise as she looked at me with a tilted head, eyes widened just slightly, but then it reverted to a more serious one.
"No."
"Really?"
She just nodded in response, not giving any explanation behind her words.
"Now, enough talking, what do you want me to do again?"
"You erase people's memories right? Do you see them before you remove them? Or do you just... will it into reality?"
"You want me to picture the memories?"
"If it helps."
She shrugged, "come here."
"What? No why the hell would I do that?"
"I'm trying to test out my quirk."
"Good for you, doesn't mean I'm letting you come anywhere near me. I don't want another 'present' thank you very much."
"Do you seriously think that I would remove your memories? We need them to get out of here?"
"Then what are you going to do?"
"Take away a minor memory? Like learning to ride a bike or something?"
"I don't want to look like an idiot next time I go for a bike ride."
"Seriously?"
I cocked my head, "I take pride in my cycling skills."
"I'm disappointed to be related to you."
"Right back at you." I glared at her and she just closed her eyes.
A smirk played on her lips as she opened her eyes, "What's your name?"
"You know my name dimwit."
"Yes, but do you?"
How stupid does she think I am?
"My name is... "
Wait, what is my name?
"Give it back." I glared at her.
"Give what back?"
"Give my memory of my name back."
"Let me out of these handcuffs."
This was going to happen.
She was going to be able to access her quirk and use it against me. But she still needed me to get out. So she couldn't go too far, so just how far was she willing to go?
"No."
"How much are you willing to forget before you give up?"
"How much are you willing to make me forget? We both know that I can't help get us both out if you remove too many memories. You do want to get out, don't you?"
It was a gamble, but I had to be confident in my plan.
Kitsu groaned, "fine big-sis you caught my bluff. So now we've established my quirk works, what's your plan?"
"You, me and a trip down memory lane," I smirked, feeling more confident in my plan than I was before.
