Melina P.O.V

"Sean" a woman around 25 called out a few seconds after we the elevator door opened. "Who's that" I asked tilting my head curious. "Uhm a family friend" he replied "you go ahead". I wanted to ask more but I didn't want to pressure him into answering questions he didn't want me to know. "Okay" I said cautiously. I walked off pretending to look for my moms room so I could hear part of there conversation I only listened up to "dropped off a friend..." I zoned out at that before actually looking for my moms room assuming she really was just a family friend. I followed the hall straight before coming across an intersection where there were two signs one that said rooms 350-389 on the left wall and one on the other wall that said rooms 300-349 given the fact that the other eleven rooms were the ones I had just spent time looking at. I went down the right hall and found my moms room nearly immediately. I walking in quietly to find her eating apple sauce and other stale hospital food. "Hey mom" I whispered. "Hi sweetie" she smiled. I breathed outwards not realizing I had been holding my breath. She pat the bed signaling me to sit next to her. I sat down cautiously next to her. She had all sorts of wires hooked up to her. "So uhm why are you here exactly" I asked. "I was with John and all of a sudden I collapsed and my heart hurt really badly, which turned out to be heart failure, that's when your heart can't keep up with the workload" she replied. "Oh yea about John he broke up with you in a note" I cautioned. "Figured he would" she mumbled, "so how'd you get here, Wren drive you?" She asked. "Me and Wren aren't exactly friends anymore" I sputtered. "I'm sorry sweetie" she said resting her hand on my shoulder, "so who brought you" she wondered. "A boy named Sean, I guess he's my friend now" I shrugged. My mom lowered her arm. "You guess" she said eyes wide, "he drove you here after knowing you for a short while and you think he's your friend, hell he probably likes you" she shook her head. "I doubt that" I frowned. "Doubt what" Sean said from behind me. "Uhhhh... nothing" I smiled nervously.
"Uhm hm". " Is that Sean" my mom asked. "Yea" I squeaked. Damn this was awkward. "I see you were talking about me" he smiled wiggling his eyebrows. I felt heat rise to my cheeks. My mom started to laugh, something I hadn't heard for a while. I smiled half heartedly at that. "So what did you and uhm your family friend talk about" I asked Sean, turning around to face him. "Oh Kelly, we talked about the usual uh how are you stuff" he rambled on. "Ah" I said. "So Sean how long have you known Melina" my mom asked. Oh god why I thought to myself. "Uh technically just today" he said running his hand through his hair. My mom tried holding on a laugh then looked at me and burst out laughing, and then clutched her side and stopped laughing. "Are you okay" I asked concerned. "Yea" she said winding down. "Did I miss something here" Sean asked confused. My face flushed an even brighter shade of red. "Never mind I don't want to know" he chuckled shaking his head. I desperately wanted to change the subject but I didn't know what to say. Fortunately and then unfortunately my mom did change the subject. "So how's school been" my mom asked. "Shit" I said under my breath. "You know you ask a lot of questions when your sober" I made my voice clear. Sean just stood there awkwardly and finally decided to lean against a wall that had y chart with numbers that said "Rate your Pain 1-10". He kicked his foot up against it too, it reminded me of the beginning of a 90's rock music video before shit went down. I gave a shy laugh at his stance. Sean seemed to catch on and tilted his head to the ground pretending to hold a cigarette, then pretended to take it out of his mouth and blow smoke. "Nobody puts baby in the corner" he said in a funny accent. Me and my mom both laughed before a nurse came in. "Are you done with your food m'am" the nurse questioned politely. My mom nodded her head and asked the time. "It's 6:16" she replied picking up the tray, "do you need anything else". "No thank you" my mom smiled. All of a sudden I thought of something. "Hey mom are they going to send you to rehab" I asked. "Most likely" she said awkwardly, probably because of Seans' presence. "You kids should be getting home" my mom said. The ride down the elevator was awkward and crammed. There was an old man in a wheelchair and a middle aged woman in there with us. They got off on the same level as us. The walk to Sean's car was quiet until we climbed inside. "Can I see your phone real quick" Sean stated. "Sure' I hesitated. I handed him my phone and he started typing away. "Woah what are you doing" I piped. "You'll see" he smirked. "You know you really shouldn't do stuff to my phone without my permission" I warned. "Yea, yea, yea...and done" he smiled handing me my phone back, turned off. I turned it back on to see he had changed my background to a fallen angle, before it was a lame photo of lightning i took nearby our house. I looked through my phone to see that Sean had added himself to my contacts list, my favorites section. I rolled my eyes at that and gave him a small punch on the arm. "Ow, I'm hit" he teased dramticaly pretending to fall backward in his seat. I rolled my eyes again. "Should I send a message to you now so you have my number" I asked. "Sure" he said whipping out his phone.I typed in a short message befor hearing his phone tweet. "Really, that's what you send, "whales' will rule the earth""he laughed. I shrugged my shoulders as he entered my contact. "Okay now I just need a picture of you" he smirked. I felt like my ears perked up like a wolf at that. "What" I stated. "Come on pleaaaase" he begged. "No way" I said kind of ashamed. "I'll get cancer if you dont" he declared pointing a finger at me and tilting his head like something David Tennate would do in Doctor Who. "Well I wouldnt want you to have that" I replied, "with or without you". "With" he grinned. Man he was smiley. I leaned my head near his and smiled and then he snapped the picture. "Let me see" I motioned towards his phone. This time he rolled his eyes. I looked like total utter shit in the picture. "No way you're using that one, we're retaking it" I said handing him back his phone. "What?!?! What's wrong with it" he questioned. "I look like shit" I asserted. "you do not but okay" he gave in. He took his phone back and held his phone in the air not taking the photo. "Are you going to take it or what" I asked. "I will" he said before starting to tickle me. i couldn"t control myself and started to laugh. All of a sudden I heard a snap of the picture being taken and he stopped tickling me. "Not cool, not cool at all" I frowned. "I wanted a real smile" he shrugged. I took a look at the photo, I did look decent. "Fine, your turn" I tossed my phone to him and he took a pic of himself, then tossed it back. He looked really, really good in his picture. "I hate you and your great picture taking skills" I joked. He stuck out his tounge. "Okay so what's your adress" he asked before typing something quickly into his phone.I gave him my adress and he typed it into his gps. We drove home nearly in silence other than the radio being on. When we got to my house, Sean got out of the car with me."What are you doing" I asked. "I'm staying with you" he answered. "What do you mean you're staying with me" I asked.
