20.2 A failed plan

Continuation from previous Chapter

Veer was looking at Bani with puppy eyes. Actually, since he came down the stairs and everyone got to know how 'the great' Veeranshu Singhania's plan had backfired on him, they had been making fun of him nonstop. At first he pretended to be nonchalant, then angry and finally sad but nothing seemed to work. All his brothers were laughing at him. So now, he retorted to his sweetheart. She tired but her heart melted at his sad face. She also noticed he wasn't eating. Bani closed her eyes and opened them red.

B: bs ab! Ho gaya....koi Veer ko pareshan nahi karega!

She cracked a small smile at the end. Ponky laughed and pointed at her.

P: Hasi to apko bhi aa rahi hai na...bhabhi...

B: Ponky! Ab bs....sb log...please

Veer stuck out a tongue at Ponky and got down the table.

V: ye nainsafi hai....jb Bani bacchii thi to sb usse pyaar kr rahe they...aur mujhe to uska aadha bhi bhaav nahi mil raha.

D: and bani bhi apni galti se nahi thi..

Veer made a face and climbed Bani's lap. He sat with both feet to her side and hid his face near her neck.

B: (whispers) sbko chup krwa diya tha na maine.....ab mt poke karo...

V: (whispers back) pr mai kya cute nahi hoon gharwali?

B: eh...

Bani studied the chubby face of the kid in her lap. He looked around 3 or 4 and was easily the most beautiful child she had ever seen. She smiled and pecked his cheeks.

V: Kya baat hai....aaj bina mange...not bad gharwali..

B: Um...ek baache ke mu se ye gharwali awkward lgta hai..

V: haw...nahi ho tum meri?

B: Hoon....pr aaj mt bulao...

V: then?

B: Call me Bani..

V: Hmmm? Sweetheart (he kissed her palm)

She fed him breakfast and went to the kitchen to help Meera. Veer sat in the hall and started playing games on his phone.

M: Bani....aaj rehne de...aaj to veer ke sath time spend kr le..

B: waise soch to mai bhi yahi rahi thi di pr aapko koi problem to nahi h na...

M: Nahi Bani...aaj waise bhi sb bahar jaa rahey h....mai khud ghar jaane ka soch rahi hoon...

B: aacha thik hai...

Bani goes to the hall and sees Tapish standing in a corner, smiling at Veer.

B: Bhai?

T: Shhh....dheere baat krte hai...

B: aap aise?

T: Veer ko dekh raha hoon...

B: bhai mujhe apse kuch poochna tha

T: Pooch na Bani

B: Bhai Veer ka bachpan me kya favourite tha...what did he like?

T: tujhe vo kahan lekr gaya tha?

B: amusement park....because I had never been there as a kid.

T: Uska bhi first time tha wahan

B: Kya?

T: Haan, vo kya hai na...Chandrakala, humari maa...vo sirf Veer ko attention deti thi...and Veer usse khush tha pr vo kahin lekr nahi jaati thi use....apni ankho ke samne rakhti thi bs....aur jb Veer thoda bada hua tb Dad ko pata chala ki vo Veer ki shaktiyon ke karan hai...unhe pata chala tumhare satyug ke baare me and maa ki sachai bhi...unhone unhe kaid kr liya and hume kaha gaya ki vo chali gayi....uske baad Veer kafi sad tha....aur dad ne hum sb kop ala....vo hume sports field le jaate they...business office le jaate they and jb hum 18 hue to club le gaye...pr jo bacchon ka jaisa normal childhood hota hai na waisa nahi tha humhara.....bani?
