33. The horror movie

Vani are home alone on a rather stormy night in this SS.

Veer and Bani were hurdled close against each other. Bani jumped a little as the cake-faced ghost appeared on the screen. She could easily model for a fairness cream. Bani could swear that she would have laughed at such a stupid ghost but the dark set up and the fact that Vani were alone in the huge mansion was adding to horror effect of the movie. To top it all off, there was a storm outside and the winds were quite strong.

Suddenly, the lights went out and Bani jumped a little. Great! now they don't get to see the climax of the movie and she will keep wondering. Veer hugged her close.

V: Tum dr rahi ho sweetheart?

B: Please! Mai Sarvashresth Adi Naagin hoon. Mai kissi se nahi drti.....

There was a sound heard from the kitchen and Bani jumped again, directly into Veer's arms this time.

V: (laughs) you sure that you are not scared?

B: shut up and come with me...

They both went in slowly. Bani was clutching Veer's jacket for support.

There was nothing there but when Bani turned a white, pale face came in front of her.

AAAAAAH!

Meow?

V: Hahaha! ...sweetheart...meri jungli billi se tum to bheegi billi ban gayi ho...ek normal billi se dr gayi...window se aa gayi hogi...relax.

He petted the cat who hurled close to his warm arms. Bani studied the kitten in front her with a angry face.

B: I wasn't scared. Vo bs ek dum se samne aa gayi...

V: sure! Think whatever you want! We both know you were scared. Adi naagin dr gayi...

Bani made a face. They both pet the cat and arrange a bed for her under the stairs and left.

Later, Bani had quickly changed and was clinging to Veer's side. Veer acted like he was annoyed but was also enjoying her this side. He slept when wind started to blow directly at his face and he heard noices.

V: (eyes closed) sweetheart! Stop with your childishness.

The voice persisted and Veer opened his eyes to see that Bani wasn't in bed. He got up and scanned the area to see that Bani wasn't in the room. He heard a crying voice from outside. He hurried and opened the door to see no one was there. He turned when a plain, pale ghost appeared in front of him.

Veer let out a loud scream before sinking to the floor.

B: hahaha! Cheelu dr gaya...kya keh rahe they mujhe...hahah darpok singhania!

Bani laughed ceased when she realised Veer wasn't moving. She panicked and began patting his face. She bought him into the room and tried to wake him up. Veer woke up as Bani broke into sobs.

V: hahaha! Reverse prank! Maza aya na sweetheart?

Bani hit his chest jokingly and but rested her head on it.

B: I was scared

She finally admitted and after a while of normal talking, they both went to bed.

Half an hour later, Veer slyly opened his eyes to see Bani is fast asleep. He took her hands in his and slept himself. With her eyes still closed, she smiled.

Darpok!
