Mia's POV
For the past week, my time spent with Ian was amazing. We started catching up and he told all his stupid stories about what happened in the counties he visited.
I was finally happy since last week. That quickly turned when Ian was expected to go to another mission in Spain. That lucky bastard.
Sunbathing in the garden, I let the warmth seek in through my body, the sun rays booming down at me. It was peaceful. I've been staying here for the remaining day, not knowing what to do.
My dad was barely home. Mom assured that he was busy with work and wouldn't be back by tonight. More like avoiding me as much as possible for disrespecting the family.
No one has brought up the conversation between my dad and I, and I was grateful for it. I didn't have the energy to even remember.
"Mia!" I sigh, hearing Leia's voice call for me.
"Go away," I grumble. "Let me have my moment for a few more seconds."
"Get your ass inside, it's freezing," she complained. "How are you still alive."
Lifting my head up, she stood by the door, Killian beside her. Looking at the sky, I didn't even realise the sun was setting. I guess being in my own world took away some of the reality away.
Wrapping a towel around my body and grabbing my locket from the table, I headed inside. I caught a glimpse of Killian's eyes on the locket.
"I'm gonna go dry off."
"I'm coming. I need to talk to you about something." Walking side by side towards my room, I head to the bathroom while she flopped on my bed. "The paperwork is in your desk," she spoke quietly.
That got my attention. I haven't forgotten about what that man told me, still figuring out what he meant.
"Thank you." Grabbing some sweats and a hoodie, I join her in the bed with the paperwork in my hand. "We need to find anything that might be important or seems out of place. There's something he knows," I mutter, more to myself.
"You still haven't told me what this is all about."
"Cain Frank was the guy who told me all this nonsense. He talked about Killian. I don't know why, but he knows something that I don't. Something that might help me in the future," I explained. "He told me about-"
The door to my room, opened. "Your father wants to see you both," Killian spoke, before closing the door behind him.
I wanted to throw my knife at him. He would talk to me when necessary, but never talks to me when he wanted to. It frustrates me how much he goes to long length to follow my dads order. I now know why he ignored me. But that doesn't give him the excuse to keep that away from me. He promised he wouldn't keep anything from me, yet here we are.
"We should see what my dear father wants." I loop my arms around hers, following Killian downstairs where everyone was gathered in the living room. "What's going on?"
Joining Adam in the couch, he wait for my father.
He finally appears from his office, a guard holding a suitcase and mom beside him.
