Mia's POV
"I don't care what you have to do! Get me my fucking money!" I could hear my dad swore on the other line, demanding where his money had gone to. It has been going on for over an hour.
I sigh, moving along to find my brother in the living room, a glass of martini on the table.
"Hey big bro," I chirped, slumping my body next to his. "Oh no, whats with that face."
He lets out a deep huff, throwing his phone to the other side of the couch. "Nothing you need to worry about," he says. I still wasn't convince. "You don't want to be here when dad..."
"Mia! Get in my office. Now!"
We turned our attention towards the stairs, hearing our dads demand voice. Guards outside and inside could hear my dad, but paid no attention, since it was none of their business.
"That?" I point out, pointing upstairs. He nods his head, pushing me off the couch. "Okay, okay! I'll go."
Ray gives me a sympathetic look, as I walk passed him and entered my dads office. He was pacing around in his office, chin resting on his fingers, thinking deeply. He hears me enter, lifting up his head.
"Yes father?"
"Do you have anything to say for yourself." Sitting back on his chair, he watches me intently. I think about all the things I could of done, but nothing seems to be coming back to me. "What happened at the party." Ah shit.
I totally forgot they had cameras installed outside, at mostly everywhere at that place. "A friend and I got into a little disagreement?"
He ordered me to stand next to him as I watch myself fighting Gary and his little friend, with the help of Killian of course. Though, I could of handled it myself.
"If you would of stayed with your brother in the first place, this wouldn't have happened," he says, in an eerily calm voice.
"I have other lives too dad," I defended. "Adam can't always be there and protect me. I can protect my god damn self, for goodness sake!"
"Don't raise your voice at me young lady," he says in a stern voice, pointing a finger at me. "Who was that guy you were talking to."
I gestures to Gary. "That was one of the guys that I met at India for my mission. He works for the Russian Mafia," I clarified. "I followed your orders, but I guess he must of found out about it, and attacked me the minute I was alone."
My dad shakes his head muttering something under his breath. "He doesn't die easily, does he?"
"No."
"I have contacted the best bodyguard out there, and since you cannot follow my rules, this is non-negotiable. We will be meeting them tomorrow. Everything has been done."
I couldn't believe my ears! A bodyguard?! The fuck I need a bodyguard. No, no, no. I am not going to let that happen.
I am an independent woman and need no man to save me.
"I am doing this for your own good, Mia. I know you can handle yourself, but during these kind of situations, I will not take any risks by losing my only daughter," he continues.
"If you know I can handle it, why bother contacting me a bodyguard!" I fired back, balling my fingers in a fist. "The guards out there can barely stay for 5 seconds without being shot dead on the floor. Please don't do this father," I pleaded.
"My final answer had been made. Get ready for tomorrow's dinner. We shall be meeting them at Le Matin Salé."
(This is not a real place! This is made up!)
