Mia's POV
I couldn't hold in the tears that escaped me, as I run towards the entrance. People watched him with pity, while others gave me a disgusts look.
I never let anyone make me cry, but him mentioning my mom made me remember that night. He killed my mom. He killed my mom. He killed my mom.
The groups of people made a way for me, thankfully. My dad, Adam or Leia was nowhere to be seen. I needed to get out of here. I hear someone start their speech, which downed down as soon as I stepped outside. Everyone that was suppose to be at the party was inside. No one was outside. The slight breeze hitting my bare skin made me calm down a bit.
My legs gave up, stepping the last step. I broke down on the stairs, burying my head in my hands. I hear someone approached down the stairs, which I paid no attention to. Letting someone see me like this was nothing I never intended to do, but tonight I couldn't care less.
The speech someone was saying from inside was heard from out here.
The footsteps stopped infront of me. Deciding on whether to see who it was, a pair of soft hands lifted my face up.
"Let's get you out of here." Killian. I didn't want him to see me like this, but I couldn't stop myself from throwing my arms around him, my head buried on the crook of his neck. He gently rubs my back, holding me.
I was surprise he would even comfort me, instead of pushing me away. After a while of calming down, he lead me to the car and drove me home. The night seemed to go on forever, as I lean my head against the window watching people smile with their families. A tear escaped my eyes.
The car stopped. My door opened, revealing Killian offering a hand. I take it. Wrapping an arm around me, he helps me to the front door.
"You're home early. How was-" Will stopped in his tracks, witnessing the look on my face. "What the fuck happened!" He shouts, stalking to me.
"I'm fine," I whisper, walking upstairs to my room. I paid no attention to anyone as they watch me stalk upstairs. I hear a couple of whispers behind me. Probably Will talking to Hailey. The kids are sleeping by now since it's 12:30 a.m.
"Auntie?" My head snaps up, as I see Miles standing by the guest room. He has a thumb stuck in his mouth, holding his favourite stuff animal. "I can't sleep. Can I sleep with you please?" He asked with a tired face.
I forced a smile small, giving him a nod. "Let's go to my room." I held his hand entering my room. "Why don't you get comfortable, while I get change okay?" He grins excitedly, jumping in my bed.
Entering my bathroom, I look in the mirror. I look like a real mess. My mascara was smudged everywhere, as well as my lipstick. Stripping off my clothes, I stepped in the shower, the warm water giving me the relaxation I needed for tonight. I breath in the warmth it gave me, before stepping out and getting dress in something comfortable.
Miles was laying on my bed, patiently waiting for me. His eyes lit up once noticing me. "Alright, time for bed," I say, sliding in next to him. I expect him to sleep, but instead he shakes his head, throwing the covers away.
"I want a bedtime story," he whines, throwing me a puppy dog eyes. I sigh, giving in.
I leave him to retrieve a book from his room, which he shared with his brother. Quietly tiptoeing inside the room, I grabbed a couple of books with me, before I wake Theo up.
Making myself back to my room, Killian was positioned outside my room.
"You should go home. It's getting late," I remind him, standing infront of him. He watches me for a moment, before nodding his head. "Killian," I call out. "Thank you."
