Where did Mallory get all that silverware?

Mallory

When Mrs. Weasley told us to walk into the fireplace, I gave her a questioning look, wondering if she was still sane. I liked Mrs. Weasly, she's how I imagined my mom would be if she wasn't the queen of the Norse gods, but seriously?

"Come again?" Halfborn asked, also looking at her as if she was mad.

"You take a pinch of this dust, walk into the fireplace, and say, Diagon Alley. Very clearly. The flames will take you there. Here, Harry dear, Ron, how about you give them an example," she said offering them the flower pot. They nodded and one after the other, did as she had instructed, making large green flames curl around them. I stepped back, looking at where the fire, and boys, had been seconds before. "I- is there possibly another- can't we do this another way? Like how we got here in the first place? I don't like fire," I finished lamely, looking down. I remembered how the flames burned my skin as that bomb exploded...

"Of course dear, but anyone who's willing should use the flu powder," she said, offering the pot to Hermione, and soon all the wizards had gone. She offered it to Annabeth, then Alex (he/him), then Magnus, and finally Halfborn. I watched as my boyfriend's red hair disappeared into thin air, along with the curling green flames.

"Hold my arm dear," Mrs. Weasly said as we were whisked away as well. I was glad she didn't ask questions about my fear. I wasn't in the mood to explain how I died, thank you very much.

We appeared on a crowded cobblestone street, with shops lining the sides. Each building was unique, some smushed between two other shops so it looked like a lopsided cake. Everyone was wearing cloaks, mostly black. Some even had hats to match, which in my opinion just made them look stupid. Children gathered around shop windows, goggling at the displays. Parents rushed their kids through bookstores, grabbing supplies for school. Magical fireworks and toys occasionally flew overhead, always accompanied by some younger kids chasing after them in delight. As we walked towards the others, I tripped on the uneven stones, which had large cracks in them from years of being stepped on repeatedly.

To put it plainly, it was pretty cool.

We went to George's joke shop, which was kind of interesting, but too loud and flashy for me. Then we bought all of our stuff for school (Annabeth had our money). I wasn't really paying attention though since Halfborn, being an idiot, offhandedly mentioned that my daggers were small and less effective than an ax in a real fight. So of course I had to argue why he was wrong, which took most of the trip.

I did notice at one point Magnus getting Annabeth an owl, which was sweet. In the pet store, Alex got a pin that said "This is my pet, _____" Which he filled in with Magnus and stuck on Magnus's shirt. It was quite amusing.

Finally, we got to a shop for sticks, I mean, wands. Hermione turned to us, "So you still need wands, right? Because you use staffs in America?"

Annabeth answered for the rest of us, "No, we already got our wands but they're with our friends who we're meeting at the train station. I don't quite remember what they were." I have to give it to Annabeth, she's a good liar, a quick thinker.

When we had all our stuff, we went back to the Burrow for our last night before Hogwarts.

I grew up in a quiet, orderly house with too many rules and restrictions to count, so to say the next morning was hectic would be putting it mildly.

I was woken up when a frantic Hermione, looking for a book, stepped on my face. I almost took out my garrote, as I growled at her. I was not a morning person.
