The car ~ 06

Nini pov:

Flashback:

"We're home" Our parents said. I looked at Ricky, who smiled and nodded. I tried to ask our parents to come over but I couldn't, I couldn't even say a word. "Mom, Dad can you come here?" when they came into the livng room you could see that they looked worried. "Is something wrong?" Mom asked.

I knew I had to tell them but maybe now is not the time. Telling Ricky was a huge mistake. My breathing became heavier and i started fidgeting with my fingers, which is a nervous tick of mine. Ricky noticed and decided he should hug me. While i was in his arms he whispered into my ear "Should I tell them?" I immediatly nodded, taking the chance that i won't have to compeltly break down. I saw Ricky taking a deep breath and then he started telling them everything. As soon as he finished they hugged me as well. When they let go of me I couldn't help but smile. Mom took my hand and said "We're a family now and no matter what will happen next we will do it together." I felt a tear roll down my cheek and I smiled.

Next day

Ricky pov:

Like every school day I was waiting for Nini to come downstairs so I could drive us to school. Should we just go back to how it was before or should we just walk? I Shook my head, she was fine with it before. I was so nervous that i didnt even notice Nini coming into the kitchen. "Earth to Ricky" Nini was standing in front of me. "Oh sorry, lets go." I quickly grabbed my bag and put the dishes away.

We both got into my car and I think were fine. I let out a breath when i saw her sitting down in the passenger seat without hesitaion. I drove us to school and every few seconds I looked over at her making sure she was ok. When we got to the school I wanted to get out but she held me back by grabbing my wrist. "I saw the way you looked at me, I know your worried but you don't have to be. I'm not scared of driving, I'm scared of the crash and why it happened. I wish I knew." I was confused "You don't know why the car crashed?"

She nodded "I think we crashed into a tree but I'm not sure. As far as i know the police doesnt know either, the last thing i heard was that they are still investagating it." I hugged her "Maybe we can somehow find out." She had a huge smile on her face "You would do this for me." "of course, you're my sister." Nini got out of the car smiling and everyone was confused.

„Dude she is way to happy, after all she has no family." I looked at big red and was mad. I shot him glare and answered "She does, I'm her brother." I saw that he immediately regreted his words. "Sorry, all this is still new to me too." I smiled "It's ok, lets head to class or we'll be late." I headed into the school and went right to class. I sat down, when I noticed nini looking weird again."Are you ok?" She shook her head "I'll tell you when we are alone."

I nodded, hoping it was nothing serious. The lesson was very boring, so I kept looking at Nini every now and then. After class she came up to me "I know you're my brother but I can still take care of myself and it's not like i won't tell you when we are alone." I nodded "I'm sorry, I am just worried about you and I don't know how else to cope with it."

The school day passes pretty quickyl and since it was so nice outside we dceided to walk back home. On our way back home we were crossing the street. When I got to the other side I saw that Nini dropped her phone so she picked it up. Then suddenly a car came towards her really fast, like over the speed limit fast. She saw the car a few seconds before it would have hit her and she could jump out of the way just in time. The driver didn't even slow down, I ran over to her and hugged her. "Are you ok?" She took a deep breath "Yeah, that was just really weird don't you think?"

I nodded "the car was driving really fast." I couldn't stop thinking about it all the way home. What happened in that moment semed off but I have no idea why or what exactly felt off. "Ricky, Earth to Ricky." Nini waved her hand in front of me. "Sorry, I was thinking about the car. Something feels weird about this." She nodded "You think so too." Maybe the driver tried to...., No that cant be. "You were having an idea, I see it in your face." I shock my head "I'll go get us some snacks." I went into the kitchen where I saw my mom preparing dinner. I went to the freezer and got us ice cream. "Don't eat to much before Dinner" I nodded.

Then I stopped "Mom." "Yes" she answered. "Can you find out how Nini's parents died." She looked shocked "Why do you want to know that?" I couldn't tell her the truth so I lied "Nini wants to know what happened." She nodded "I'll try my best." I hugged her "Thanks, you're the best."
