Nini pov:It was Saturday now and we were eating breakfast as a family. "Ricky, could you pass me the butter?" I asked him. He just nodded his head.
Ricky has been really quiet ever since he talked to our parents. It's like they told him something that made him feel bad or something. If they would have told him anything though he would have told me for sure. What surprised me more though is that our parents aren't saying anything about his behaviour. "You've been really quiet lately" I said in another attempt to get him to speak. "Just a lot on my mind" He muttered as a response to my question.
I noticed that while he answered me, he was glaring at our mom. "Ricky Bowen, you do not get to act like that towards your mother" Dad said to him. Ricky just rolled his eyes as a response. "Richard" He said in a warning tone. "Don't call me that. You lost that right the day you started lying to me." I raised an eyebrow out his sudden outburst.
"Ricky, what are you talking about?" He looked at her before shaking his head. "It's nothing." After his outburst I expected him to be everything but calm, but that was exactly how he was acting. It's like he didn't just call our parents liars. "What the hell is going on here? I feel like you are hiding something from me, but you promised to always tell me everything." I heard him sigh before grabbing my arm and pulling me up the stairs. You could hear Mom and Dad yell his name, but he didn't stop. When we reached his room, he locked the door behind me. "Ricky what is going on?" Ricky sat down on his bed and motioned me to do the same.
"You know that mom and dad had talked to me a few days ago." I nodded my head, which was enough for him to continue. "You don't know why though. The day before I came home from school earlier than my parents had expected me to be, so I walked in on something I wasn't supposed to hear. They were talking about you." My eyes widened in shook "What!" he nodded his head "They did." "What did they say?" He took a deep breath "They were talking about the car crash and your moms. Apparently, they used to be friends with your parents until they died, that's why we adopted you."
I just stared at him in disbelieve "So you're telling me that you knew that for half a week and didn't tell me." He sighed "When my parents found out I overheard them they made me promise that I wouldn't tell you, because they wanted to. I gave them until this morning to tell you themselves." I rubbed my forehead "That's a lot of information that I would have liked to know earlier, but I'm not mad that you didn't tell me. But do you think they know my uncle too?"
Ricky nodded his head "You know that he went to the same school as your mom's and my mom meet your mom's in high school she knows him. Plus, you used to be close to him." Suddenly something hit me "They know what he did to me, don't they?" He nodded his head "I would think so, but we can't be sure until we ask them." After a few minutes of silence, I got pulled into a tight hug. "It'll be ok, no matter if they know the truth or not. If they know the truth it just means that they will do everything they can to protect you from him." We sat there in silence with me in his arms for a long time. I don't know for how long, but I never wanted to let go. Will sitting there I thought about how my new parents have known my old parents for longer than I was even alive. Then something else came to my mind.
"Ricky?" He looked down at me and nodded his head "Yeah." I took a deep breath before answering him. He just patiently waited for me to start talking.
"What if my mom's knew that they were going to die?"
