Out of My League (Tzukook Fanfic)

Tzuyu could feel how tight he holds her hand, not tight enough to hurt but tight enough she knows he doesn't want to let go. They have been walking for a while now in silence but she know that his thoughts must be loud in his head. He had been frowning since they left the cafe, so into his thoughts that he didn't know the way they are taking isn't the way to her home. But Tzuyu lets him lead the way, knowing that something must be in his mind.

Jungkook suddenly comes to a stop as he realizes that they are not in Tzuyu's neighborhood.

"Ah, I'm sorry, I didn't realize we are taking the wrong way." Jungkook apologizes.

Tzuyu shakes her head "It's fine."

He starts to walk again but Tzuyu tugs at his hand to make him stop.

"Something must be on your mind. Are you okay?" Tzuyu asks.

"I'm sorry. That guy at the cafe. He's Taehyung. He was my childhood friend. I'm sorry he bothered you."

Tzuyu tilts her head "Why are you sorry?"

Not knowing what to answer Jungkook just keeps quiet and starts to walk again, this time Tzuyu doesn't stop him so they walk together. Jungkook doesn't know why he feels bothered seeing Taehyung with Tzuyu. He thinks Taehyung must be curious on who Tzuyu is as Taehyung had seen how he reacts when Tzuyu is around. That and the fact that whenever Taehyung would see him and Tzuyu, he would always ask if they were dating. Jungkook doesn't know what dating is so he doesn't know how to proceed. But he knows that as a guy, he should at least take courage for that next step.

He stops and turns to Tzuyu "What would happen if we start dating?"

Tzuyu feels her heart stop at the question. She had always thought of them dating but for it to happen in reality, she didn't know what to expect. "I wonder... What dating is like." Tzuyu answers.

Jungkook feels himself reassured. He had been nervous. Right, she also doesn't know what dating is. Maybe they could figure out this dating thing together. But now he thinks of how to ask her to be his girlfriend. For him, it feels different yet the same when he confessed his feeling for her. He wants her to know how much he feels for her. He decides to bare his heart and soul to her so she can know how deep his feelings for her were.

"I know it's reckless to fall in love with you since you're way out of my league but I can't help it. I don't have the ability to stop falling for you." Jungkook tells her.

At those words, Tzuyu's heart beats fast. She feels herself tear up, feeling so happy that the guy she likes, likes her back. Hearing him confirm his feelings again for her made her emotional.

"So if you're okay with a guy like me, will you be my girlfriend?" Jungkook nervously asks.

Eyes widening at his question, Tzuyu quickly nods. Unable to speak as her emotions get the best of her. Seeing Tzuyu nod at his question, Jungkook feels so happy, he hugs Tzuyu in response.

Hugging him back tightly despite the blush on her face at their closeness, Tzuyu finds herself wanting for this moment to never end. Tzuyu tells him "I don't know much about dating, but if it's with you, I'm willing to learn about it."

Feeling emotional, Jungkook hugs Tzuyu tighter, wanting to keep her closer to him. He thinks, he probably don't deserve her love but he will do anything to be the man she deserves. Jungkook responds "I also don't have experience with dating but don't worry, we will learn it together."

Next day

Tzuyu woke up feeling happy, the happiest she has ever been. She went down feeling cheery and saw her parents on the dining table.

"Good morning Tzuyu." Her parents greeted her. Tzuyu took a seat in the table and started eating. Tzuyu's parents noticed the difference in their daughter's mood compared to other days. She may be quiet and may seem not to express her emotions well but they were her parents so they know that their daughter is very happy right now.

"Did something good happen at school?" Tzuyu's dad asked while munching on his toast.

At the question, Tzuyu stopped eating. Debating whether to tell them the truth that she is now dating someone. She can't lie but she feels scared what will her parents think or do when they found out about it. She thinks it's better if they found out about it from her rather than other people so she chose to tell them the truth.

"I... There is a guy I like..." Tzuyu trails off feeling shy.

Her parents' eyes widen at that. They can't believe that their daughter who is wary of boys will like a guy. Tzuyu's mom noticing that her daughter is hesitating about something proceeds to ask "Are you two now dating?"

Tzuyu gasps and blushes some more. She nods at the question. Her dad stands up straight up at her answer.

"This is why I'm against to her going to a co-ed school!" Her father suddenly shouts.

Her mother quickly moves to calm him down "But I'm sure he's a nice guy. After all she's the one our daughter has chosen."

Both her parents then turned their eyes on her. "So what kind of guy is he?" They both asked.

"We're not suspicious. We just wanna know what kind of guy are you dating." Her mother adds.

"I wanna meet this guy." Her father grumbles.

"Dear, you're just going to threaten him aren't you? You're going to be late now if you don't go."

Her father finishes eating and stands up. "Don't get me wrong Tzuyu. I'm happy you found a guy, nice enough to date him. But if he hurts you, I won't be able to forgive him."

Tzuyu nods at her father's words. Thankful that her parents had taken the news well. Her father kisses her forehead then turns to walk towards the door to leave. After seeing her father exit the house, her mother turns to her.

"So now that you're father has gone," her mother stares at her eyes "Is the boy who's walking you home also the same boy you're now dating?"

Unable to escape her mother's prodding, she nods. "How did you know mom?" She asks.

"I had a feeling there must be something special with that boy for you to let him walk you home since normally it would be Dahyun who walks you home."

Tzuyu's face reddens. "I'm happy that you are living like a normal school girl now. Also experiencing falling in love." Her mother says.

"Thank you for taking the news well." Tzuyu says softly.

Her mother takes her hand and smiles "It's a boy you chose. And I'm sure you would choose a great guy. But we still want to meet him so we can get to know who our daughter is dating."

"If you want to meet him. He will walk me home later."

Tzuyu's mom smiles "I guess I better prepare an even more delicious food to welcome your boyfriend."

As she finishes eating she starts to think how will she tell Jungkook that her parents want to meet him.
