Chapter 8 : first person pov. Edited 2nd of November, 2021.
I stopped in my tracks. Looking back at the clubroom, before letting out a sigh.
"Good luck, (l/n)-san!"
Today is my first day to be the official medical-based manager of the basketball club. It's funny how I used to say that I won't involve myself with basketball players but ended up doing this because of Anzai-sensei. I used to be so brave and bold about it, and now ugh! I'm suffering. I made my way to the basketball clubroom. On my way there I saw Ayako-san hugging a clipboard.
"(l/n)-san! There you are," she smiled at me. "I was actually waiting for you so we can come together."
"Thank you, Ayako-san." I smiled.
"No problem! I should be the one thanking you for agreeing with this. Aside from the troubles, your skills in treating and giving someone a first-aid is so reliable. Especially when it comes to injured players. So it would be really helpful," she smiled shyly.
I noticed that she already changed into her pink t-shirt and sweatshirts with her hair braided, while wearing a cap. I haven't changed into my gym clothes since I don't think I'll be needing to wear mine.
"It's fine really," I said, shrugging my shoulders. My eyes went towards her elbows. "Are those fine now?" I asked.
Ayako chuckled. "Yes, thanks to you."
While walking towards the gym, Ayako suddenly stopped. Making me do the same. I questioned her by raising my brows, trying not to look that intimidating.
"Are you sure... you're fine with it?" She asked, shyly avoiding my gaze. "I don't mean to interfere, but I want you to know that Hisashi is back on the team. And... Akagi-san kinda told me about how things were before..."
I stood there frozen. Slowly letting out a chuckle after a sigh. I expected nothing more than this. I knew he'll come back. I was there when he was being tamed by Anzai-sensei. The one who provoked him went to Shohoku.
"I'm only a medical-based manager," I said, tugging a strand of my hair behind my ear. "So, I think it won't be a bother. And years had passed already. I'm sure we are both over it."
She nodded. When we both arrived at the basketball gym, all of the players inside suddenly stopped on what they're doing. Akagi-san's eyes met mine. I slowly raise one of my hands to wave at him awkwardly.
"(l/n)-CHAN!? WHAT ARE YOU DOING-" I laughed when Sakuragi was stopped by Akagi.
Ayako faked a cough to get their attention. "(l/n)-san is here to help the team, she's one of your managers now so please take care of her. Respect her too, she's a medical-based manager. Let's just say that we are advanced enough to have her. Due to your troubles and fights lately, she was personally assigned by the school head for our club."
"Although she can immediately refuse it to stay out of trouble, she agreed because of the coach." Akagi-san added.
"If you guys didn't know me yet, I'm [L/N] [F/N] from class 1-4. I am from the voluntary club, and I specifically volunteer with medicine things. I used to be a volunteer nurse. Please take care of me," I bowed to pay respect.
