Chapter 17 : Flashbacks. Edited on 10th of January 2022. 1st Person POV.
"Congratulations!" I greeted Mitsui, he's holding the MVP award in his hands which suits him the most. Haru beside me elbowed me. He smiled shyly at me, partly he's being shy about the part that I almost saw his downfall during the match. And the fact that Haru is beside me. He knew the thing.
The last quarter of the championship game was crucial, but one of the coaches from inside the court knocked some sense into Mitsui who was about to give up.
"Go on, I'll take a picture." She said holding her polaroid camera high.
Before I could even refuse, Haru had pushed me towards Mitsui, she grinned taking a picture with my awkward face, and positioned with Mitsui catching me in his arms.
"Haru-chan!" I yelled.
"Heh! Don't worry, I still have a lot of films inside. Let's take another one!"
I rolled my eyes, Mitsui had an arm wrapped around my lower back. He's still holding his award when we smiled at the picture. After that Haru becomes busy shaking the film of the polaroid.
"You deserved it." I smiled, looking up a bit. He still has an arm wrapped on my lower back. He nodded with that smile at me.
"I think, I already figured what school I should attend for high school, F/N." He smiled.
"What-"
"Here, L/N-chan! Have it signed by Mitsui!" Haru has interrupted me by showing me the second polaroid picture of us.
"Where's the other one?" I asked her. She only grinned at me with that. I sighed before letting out a playful chuckle.
She handed me the picture. I felt my cheeks warm because of the picture.
"Have it signed for me?" I handed Mitsui the picture.
"Gladly," he grinned.
When he handed me the picture I saw his sign and a small note on it.
Takeishi Middle School Championship.
- Signed by the MVP : ) Thank you, F/N.
I shook my head upon reading it. "Wow, what an airhead." I laughed, making him chuckle in unison.

"Shohoku High?" I asked my mother upon mentioning the school she wanted me to attend. "I thought I'm going to Sanoh? Or Ryonan?" I asked once again to confirm it.
"We even planned for you to go abroad for high school, F/N. But one of your Dad's close friends has recommended you there, and he couldn't refuse the offer."
Shohoku has sounded so familiar to me. That night, I texted Mitsui about this and found out that Shohoku is where he's currently studying.
I went downstairs. "Mom! I'm already fine studying at Shohoku!" I yelled under pressure, mom looked so surprised about it.
"What!? We can still do something about it, F/N!"
"You heard your daughter." Father smiled. "She already wants to go there. Don't let us down, F/N."
