Mitsui is currently throwing glares at me. I raised both of my hands in the air. "I'm... I'm not aware of it." A sigh escapes my lips, as everyone in front of me finally shut their mouths. I glanced at Anzai-sensei beside me. Just when I thought that everything is gonna be alright this time around. I almost forgot that I'm not really a part of the club. Basketball club, I am from the voluntary club.
"F/N-chan? Leaving us? There's no way!"
I bit my lower lip. "Sakuragi. Calm down, I'm not leaving all of you unless they asked me to."
"And so they asked you." Rukawa all of a sudden muttered. "L/N won't be joining us in the tournament, Anzai-sensei?"
It seems like Anzai-sensei couldn't do anything aside from nodding. He was out words, just like me. I can't seem to answer Mitsui and Sakuragi's questions. I end up, sighing, leaning my back at the backrest of the bench. Honestly, I didn't even expect that this day would even come. I became so comfortable around them that I almost forgot that I'm not really a part of them.
"I'll ask ahead further your senseis for the information." Was all Anzai-sensei said before leaving the gym.
I stood up from the gym. Before I bowed in front of them. "Thank you," I said with a small smile forming on my lips. "Thank you so much for taking care of me while I'm here. With you guys, I realize a lot of things. I learned from every one of you. And I'm forever grateful for the experience that you guys gave me."
"Miyagi, stand behind me. I might cry," what Mitsui said made me chuckle a bit. "Is there really no other way?"
I nodded, giving him a sad smile. "I know, this is not just about the school head deciding for me." I am all assured that my mother has to do something with this. "Being your medical-based manager for almost three months is already a huge advantage for me in the near future. This does not only benefit you guys, but this benefits me too."
"And after all, I made friends." I chuckled softly. "And that's what matters to me the most. That I came to know all of you. Thank you for giving me the opportunity."
"This isn't your farewell message yet, L/N." Everyone in front of me suddenly glances at Rukawa who suddenly spoke behind me.
"I know..." I said biting my lower lip in anticipation.
I heard Akagi-san sighed. "Then don't bid your goodbyes yet." He said that with a small smile. "You're always welcome in the team, in the basketball club. You're a part of it. Always remember that."
I sniffed and had to wipe a single tear from my eyes because of that. "Stop. I don't want to cry." I urged to say that got Akagi-san chuckling to himself. I exited the gym after I bid my goodbyes that time. Unbeknownst to me, I felt someone walking behind me so I had to look back and saw that it was Rukawa. I had to pull the sleeves of his jacket to remove it from me.
"Keep it."
"No. You need it for the tournament. You need to keep yourself warm." Before their games, I would always remind them of things. Such as keeping themselves warm, to wear their jackets. To take a rest, to drink water, and don't let their sweats get dried. And I swear to God, those were some of those moments that I will miss once I leave the club.
"Are you saying that because you won't be able to say it anymore after this?"
I stopped in my tracks handing him his jacket. Rukawa looks away persistent that I should keep it. I insisted and take one of his hands from him, placing his jacket there.
