Star Trek Into Darkness {The Unseen Moments}

Final Part.

Kaitlynn was sleeping in her cell, when she her phasers going off. She sat up and saw her husband shooting at the crew, with a determined look in his eyes. She stood up and pressed her hands against the glass and watched in awe as Khan continuously shot at the crew. When he was done, his eyes immediately shot in Kaitlynn's direction and a smile crepted onto his face. Kaitlynn smield back as Khan made his way over to the cryocell and motioned for Kaitlynn to step back. She took a few steps back, her back pressing against the wall and watched as her husband broke through the glass wall. Khan stood infront of Kaitlynn and he wrapped his arms around her, hugging her like he hadn't seen her in years. Kailtynn buried her face into his chest as a few tears fell from her eyes.

"FREEZE!!"

Khan and Kaitlynn turned to see Kirk, Spock and Uhura pointing their phasers at them. Once she saw them, however, Uhura lowered her phaser. Khan kept his arms wrapped around Kaitlynn's small body as he stared down Kirk, knowing that if he let go, that would mean the end of his beloved wife.

That was something he couldn't and wouldn't risk.

"Nice of you to join us, Khan" Kirk said as Spock did the same thing Uhura did.

Khan stayed silent as Kaitlynn buried herself under his body. "Hope you enjoyed this little free run of yours. By the time we reached earth, you AND Kailtynn are going to be charged" Kirk continued.

With eyes as clear as the ocean, Kailtynn looked at Kirk as if she were an innocent child. When he moved his gaze over to her, Kirk saw something he was blinded by rage to see; his baby sister.

"Jim, can we play in the park today?" A 5 year old Kaitlynn asked her 13 year old big brother.

When Jim looked up at his baby sister, she was wearing her brown hair in two high pig tails and she was wearing her favorite purlpe t-shirt with denim blue jeans that flared at the bottom and her black and white and navy blue running shoes. She gripped onto her teddy bear that she was given at birth as Jim smiled at her. She was so innocent, he hoped she never grew up. Jim went over and picked her up, throwing her in the air and catching her in his arms. "Well," Jim said as he held Kaitlynn on his hip and he continued to say "What's at the park?"

"We can go on the swings we can go on the monkey bars we can go on the rocketship" Kaitlynn said with so much joy and happiness. Jim smiled and he said "Alright, but I'm giving you a piggy back ride"

Kaitlynn hopped down and Jim crouched to the floor. She wrapped her tiny arms around his neck and he held the back of her knees with his hands and they made their way to the park. Hearing his little sister's laughter filled with innocence and love made Jim smile. He would always cherish these moments forever.

"You're really leaving?"

Kaitlynn, now 14 years old, asked her big brother as he held onto a black dufflebag. Jim sighed softly looking at his little sister and he said "I'm sorry, Kait. But I got called to the line of duty"

Kaitlynn looked down at her feet, observing her black nail polish that was painted on her toenails. Kirk observed her attire which was dark blue skinny jeans, a grey flowing tank top with the holes where the arms go reached down to her ribs and a white tube top. Her hair was now long and wavy but she still had her dark brown color hair from when she was younger. When Kaitlynn looked up at Jim, she saw that he was smiling. "Why are you smiling?" Kailtlynn asked confused.

"Because I see how much you have matured and grown up" Jim said. "And even though I'll be gone, I'll come back home. I promise"

After Jim said this, Kailtlynn hugged him tightly, just like she did when she was 5 years old.

Jim's eyes widen a bit and everyone looked at him, wondering what his next move will be. Then, he stood down.

Khan and Kaitlynn just looked at Jim as he dropped his phaser from his hand. Kaitlynn pulled away from Khan a bit as she kept her eyes on Jim. Then he slolwy walked into the cell, approaching Kaitlynn like he had done an evil deed. Raising his head up looking into her eyes, Jim pulled Kaitlynn into a tight, overdue hug. Kaitlynn was taken back by the sudden hug, but she then wrapped her arms around Kirk's neck and hugged him tightly back. She heard him mumble into her shoulder "I'm so sorry for everything I have done" repeatedly, like it would be the last thing he would ever say. In response she started to cry into his chest. This was all she wanted and all she ever needed from Jim.

She finally got it.

After what seemed like forever, Jim loosened the hug and Kaitlynn pulled away wiping her tears away. Jim sniffed and then he said to Spock, still looking at Kaitlynn "Spock, inform headquarters to drop the charges and to cancel the man hunt. Tell 'em that I finally came to my senses"

Kaitlynn smiled as more tears fell and then she felt Khan pull her into a tight embrace. The nightmare was finally over.
