Will This Be a Nightly Visit?

Throught the entire day, Kaitlynn and Khan kept looking at eachother with just simple glances. She would have just entered the main control room and Khan's head would shoot up and they would look at eachother for a few good seconds. Kaitlynn would always be the one to look away simply because she wasn't risking having Jim catch her. But then again, why did it matter to him? He was so hell bent on making Khan pay for what he did to Christopher Pike that Kaitlynn felt like she wasn't even a part of the ship. She didn't even exist as far as she was concern. It wasn't something new to her, for 5 years he always ignored her. Same old same old she figured. But with Khan, somehow he made her feel wanted. She had no clue why but she just felt that way, even if he was an assassin.

That night, Kaitlynn once again got no sleep. She stood up and went to the mirror. She was wearing a red tshirt with black pajama bottoms and she had her hair in a high ponytail. She stretched out and then made her way out to the main control room, where Khan was sitting. She looked at him and then she sat down infront of the glass. ''Up late again?'' Khan asked.

''I keep staying up late'' Kaitlynn admitted.

Khan went and sat down infront of Kaitlynn like she did. ''No sleep due to anxiety?'' Khan asked.

Kaitlynn looked at Khan confused. ''Anxiety? How did you know about that?'' she asked.

''It's not just anxiety.'' Khan said. ''There's also depression in you''

Kaitlynn shifted alittle in her spot. ''How do you know this?'' she asked.

''For 5 years you've missed your brother. So much that it sent you to a downward spiral of sadness that's lasted up until this point'' Khan said adding emphasis on 'point'. ''Now that you've made it this far, Kirk has been ignoring you and avoiding you and all for what? To make me pay for what I did''

Kaitlynn looked down at the floor. How Khan knew all of this was the scariest thing ever. Then Kaitlynn looked at Khan and said ''The scary thing about talking to you is you know things about me I haven't said to anyone''

''I have that effect'' Khan said.

Kaitlynn swallowed a lump in her throat and she said ''Khan why shelter yourself? Your crew is your family I get that, but it seems like you're sheltering yourself away from any and all things that could possibly even come to care about you''

''It's easier to do that then to fall in love'' Khan said. ''Besides, who could fall in love with a 300 year old genetically engineered man?''

Kaitlynn nodded her head then she said ''You'll never know now will you?''

Khan looked at her weird and he asked ''Why would I want to know?''

Kaitlynn looked at Khan and she smirked as she said ''Why wouldn't you want to know?''

Khan continued observing Kaitlynn as he said ''You're a weird creature''

Kaitlynn raised an eyebrow and she said ''Why do you say that?''

''The simple fact that you're choosing to talk to a 300 year old assassin even when he almost killed your brother is what makes you peculiar'' Khan said. ''Why?''

Kaitlynn puts her hands down and behind her and she said ''Well maybe I like talking to you. Maybe I like talking to 300 year old men who are genetically engineered to bring peace to a world in war. Maybe I like talking to men who will do anything for their family. And maybe I like talking to assassins''

Then Kaitlynn smirked at Khan. Khan gave Kaitlynn a confused look then he said ''Will this be what Iexpect at night? Will this be a nightly visit from now on from you?''

''Do you want me to keep visiting you at night? Clearly you get bored alone'' Kaitlynn said.

''Dare to find out?'' Khan said, almost as if he was daring her to come into her cell.

Kaitlynn smirked. ''I may be 19, but I'm not stupid. You plan on luring me into your cell so you could kill me''

''Oh you are smart indeed, Ms. Kirk'' Khan said with a smirk.

''Like I said I'm not stupid'' Kaitlynn said. ''You're going to have to do much more than just daring me to join you in your cell''

''Oh'' Khan breathed out. ''You are a smart young woman aren't you?''

Kaitlynn smirked and she said ''Just playing your game''

Khan smirked. Then he asked ''Will you be by tomorrow night?''

Kaitlynn looked out and saw that the sun was rising. So she stood up and said ''Do you want me to?''

Khan smirked and he said ''Your call''

Kaitlynn smirked and then she said 'Damn right it is''

Then she made her way back to her room.
