Baby's First Cold

Kaitlynn and Khan woke up to the sound of their son crying and wailing. Kaitlynn sat up and her eyes shot open wide. Khan saw Kaitlynn's urgency and he breathed out ''What's wrong?''

Kaitlynn got out of the bed and went to Max's bassinet. She felt her son's forehead and he was burning up. ''Khan'' She said nervously as she walked to the bed, sat down on it, and laid Max down infront of her. Khan sat up and moved closer to her as she started to gently rub her son's belly.

Khan felt his son's forehead and he said ''He's sick''

Kaitlynn held back tears as she swallowed a hard lump in her throat. Khan started rubbing his wife's back and he said ''It's just a cold''

Kaitlynn sniffed and she said ''Yeah I know. I-I just worry that's all''

Khan softly smiled at Kaitlynn and he said ''We'll treat this now so he can get better sooner''

Kaitlynn smiled and sniffed. Then Khan took Max into his arms and went to the medicine cabinet. He pulled out some baby medicine and then he looked at Kaitlynn and he said ''Get some sleep, darling. I got this''

Kaitlynn softly smiled and then she rested her head on the pillow and fell asleep.

The next morning Kaitlynn woke up to the sound of baby laughter. She sat up and saw Khan tickling their son's belly and she heard Max laughing. Kaitlynn moved closer to Khan and she said ''He looks so much better than last night''

Khan looked at Kaitlynn and he said ''The medicine I gave him helped his immune system fight off the cold virus'. He was all better once he woke up earlier this morning''

Kaitlynn looked down at her son and she smiled. He was smiling and laughing and that's exactly what she wanted to hear. Then she looked at Khan and she kissed him gently on the cheek. Khan looked at her and he asked ''What was that for?''

Kaitlynn smiled. ''For being an amazing father and an amazing husband''

Khan smiled and then he said to her ''I love you, Kaitlynn''

''I love you, Khan''

Then Kaitlynn rested her head on Khan's shoulder as he continued tickling their son.
