I was about half in love with her by the time we sat down. That's the thing about girls. Every time they do something pretty . . . you fall half in love with them, and then you never know where the hell you are.
J.D. Salinger - The Catcher in the Rye

{THIRD PERSON}
Hotch, Morgan, Reid and Rossi race to the SUVs. Garcia sends them the coordinates of the house and Morgan steps on the gas. "Go, go, go, crime fighters. Bring her back safe, okay." Garcia says before hanging up. She paces nervously around JJ's hospital room as she waits for news.
In the SUV, Morgan is fuming. "I can't believe we didn't consider him." "Morgan, nothing in the profile pointed towards him as being behind it." Hotch tries to calm him down. "What profile? We barely made one. No, we should have seen the signs that this was more personal than that. But why Emily? What could he have possibly gained from taking her?" "To get to JJ. To get back at her for some reason." Reid chips in from behind. Morgan hits the steering wheel hard and sighs. "People are just messed up."
The car comes screeching to a halt outside the property. Morgan deliberately keeps the sirens and lights off to stop Will from running. They gather in front of the door, their guns raised and Hotch gives the signal. "FBI!" Morgan shouts as he kicks in the door with one swift movement. They burst inside and split off. Reid and Rossi head upstairs, calling Emily's name, and come across a door with four bolts on the outside. Morgan and Hotch join them after clearing the rest of the house downstairs and they enlist Morgan's door-kicking expertise once more.
The team are met by the sight of Emily lying on her back with her eyes closed and Will, shirtless, leaning over her. "Get off her, LaMontagne." Rossi growls and knocks him to the floor, still aiming his gun. Morgan cuffs him roughly, making the hand cuffs extra tight and drags him to his feet. "The fun is over, Will. It's over." He says and marches him down the stairs to the car. Hotch immediately goes to Emily's side and covers her with her shirt which was lying discarded on the floor beside her. "Emily? Emily, it's Hotch. You're safe, we've got you." He says softly, feeling her wrist for a pulse. "We need a medic. She's alive but I think she's passed out." He says through the comm. "Come on, Emily. We're all here. You're going to be okay."
Reid and Rossi are looking around the house and Reid picks up a small leather bound journal. He opens it and holds it up to Rossi. "Look at this, he was obsessed with, not only JJ, but I count at least four other women. All blonde, pretty, slim." "So why did he marry JJ if he had other women in his head?" "He's a charmer, and he wanted to have some form of control over her, I suppose." "But then why move back to New Orleans, if that meant he was further away from JJ? Surely as a stalker he'd want to remain as close as possible." "Not if he felt rejection after the divorce. He'd want to put distance between himself and the object that fuelled his humiliation and anger, but after a while he'd start thinking about her and the obsession would continue." "So then why did he take Emily?" "To get JJ's attention, or maybe to hurt her?" They keep discussing theories as they wait for the ambulance to arrive.
Emily still has her eyes closed but Morgan is sat beside her, watching her chest rise and fall and praying in his head that she will be okay. Hotch watches from a distance and calls Garcia to let her know that they found Emily. "Oh my goodness is she alive? Wait, what a dumb question. No, but is she okay?" She stutters over the phone. "Garcia, she's alive. Ambulance is on its way, Will is in custody. It's going to be okay." He says in a gentler tone. Garcia sighs and, although he can't see, she smiles. "The doctors say that JJ might be awake soon. Maybe a few hours. That's good, right?" "That's amazing. Keep us posted, we're on the way." He responds.
