We all rush through the halls after dropping, quite literally, the bastards at the nurses office who dared tried to hurt our beta and my princess. They deserve so much more than a few punches. We fly into the office just as Sean finishes up lookin over the two of them. I breathe a sigh of relief when he announces that they are perfectly fine.
"Unfortunately, I have to go make sure none of those idiots die," Sean states sighing dramatically. Sang giggles a little in response making me relax a little. She would be just fine. "I have to go to the nurses office, but keep me linked." He ducks down by Sang on the way out kissing her cheek. Her face reddens slightly as he leaves the room.
Kota recounts the encounter to us from his perspective and then Sang goes. It requires every ounce of my self-control to not go and find Greg and finish him. He touched her. He hurt her. North erupts out of his seat and has to be talked down by Silas.
"No one goes anywhere alone," Alpha Blackbourne tells us. Everyone nods in acceptance. We need to look out for one another. "Now, since it is Friday. You are excused from the rest of your classes. I think we could all use a break."
"Yes!" Luke cheers as he jumps up punching on hand into the air. "Cupcake, we should go get cupcakes to celebrate, or maybe ice cream." He continues to ramble on about the potential sweets they could get, and Sang just watches him smiling with him.
"You are not eating all that fucking sugar Lucien," North snaps at him. Sang turns her large eyes to him and expertly sticks her bottom lip out. Gabe and Luke really got her to nail that one.
"Ice cream?" She asks softly. North melts under her pout and reluctantly nods. Luke cheers jumping around and bringing Sang with him. They are headed toward the door before anyone could stop them.
"But just a single fucking scoop," North adds charging after them. We all follow behind and head for our cars. There isn't that much left of the school day so we wouldn't likely even be missed.
Scoopz is a popular ice cream shop in town. It also serves frozen yogurt for those like North that just can't handle overtly sweet things. We all wait in line chatting and joking. It became somewhat of a competition to make Sang laugh. I didn't compete instead I stood back with Kota and watched. Each one of her laughs is precious, like the perfect melody. My fingers twitch itching for the familiar keys of the piano under them. I could write a million songs about her.
"Sang?" A female voice gasps by the door. A couple of girls had just entered the shop. One of them, a plain brunette, is staring at Sang with wide, disbelieving eyes. I focus on Sang and see that she as well is staring at this girl, in shock and in fear. I refuse for that fear to be there any longer. "How are you here?" The girl asks.
I push my way forward and get in front of her blocking her view of Sang.
"How do you know Sang?" I ask the tone of my voice dangerous. I recognized the girl from school now that I was closer, but I didn't share any classes with her and hadn't ever spoken to her before now.
"She's-she's," the girl fumbles. "How-.." She cuts off as I hear gasps from behind me. I turn and horror washes through me. Sang lays lifeless in Silas's arms. He picks her up and heads immediately for the door. Without another word I turn and follow him. The rest of us making a sort of circle around him. He has precious cargo. The girl tries to follow us, but its too late. Once we get to the cars we are gone.
The cars are silent on the drive back. Silas holds Sang in the backseat of my car. She is breathing steadily, but she looks so pale. Kota calls ahead and warns Dr. Green and Alpha Blackbourne about what happened. They are meeting us at the pack house.
We arrive at the pack house in record time. I note that Dr. Green and Alpha Blackbourne's cars are already here. Silas carries Sang into the living room laying her onto the couch gently. Dr. Green immediately goes to work looking her over. We crowd around as well needing to be close.
"Report," Alpha Blackbourne commands his voice practically a growl.
"We went out to ice cream on the way home," Kota starts. "Everything was fine until a girl cam in. She goes to Ashley Waters but I've only seen glimpses of her. I don't know her name."
"Yeah, she fucking called Sang's name and they just stared at each other. Then Sang fucking collapses," Gabe adds pulling slightly on his hair.
"We need to know more about this girl," Alpha Blackbourne states. He turns and looks at me. "Find out everything you can." I nod once.
"Yes, Alpha."
"This girl does not get anywhere close to Sang until I we know more, am I understand." Agreements are echoed around the room. Sean steps back from Sang drawing the attention of the room.
"She is going to be fine," he states making everyone release some tension they had been holding. "It looks like she just got overwhelmed. She should be right as rain with a little rest."
"I'll take her up to her room," Nathan says moving forward. He carefully reaches under her and pulls her up to his chest. I follow him with my eyes until they are out of sight up the stairs. Forcing myself to move. I head to my room. I had research to do.
