Sang
Victor escorts me to class. The halls are packed and everyone is talking so I don't have a chance to question him on the way. We have to hurry just to make to the room before the bells rings. North is already there when we arrive. He is hunched over his phone typing away. Once he sees us, he quickly stows it away in his jeans. I focus in on his bouncing knee and tense face. He seems agitated. Immediately, I begin to worry.
Are you okay? I ask him through the pack link since Mr. Morris has begun his lecture. I'm not supposed to use the pack link around other people but talking out loud isn't really an option right now.
Yeah, I'm fine, Sang baby. His deep voice fills my head and I can hear the sincerity in his words. I relax back into my seat and open my notebook to start taking notes. I can't help myself though.
So what are we doing after school today? I try to keep my voice light, but I'm so curious.
I can't tell you. His voice was teasing. I glance over at him only to meet his eyes. He smirks before turning his attention back to the board.
But...
Nope, now focus on class, baby. Reluctantly, I do what he asks. Lunch is next anyway. I'll be able to talk to him more then. Luke will be there too. He'll tell me, especially if I give him the candy I have stashed in my backpack.
The class period seems to drag on but eventually the bell rings. I practically jump out of my seat but Victor takes him time putting his things away. Once he's ready I turn to go with him and North, but North is gone. I look around but he isn't in the room anymore.
"Where did North go?" I ask. Victor shrugs looking slightly confused as well.
"He must have something to do before lunch."
We make our way to the lunch room, and I spot most of the guys already at our normal table. The other students are quite loud yelling and throwing things here and there. The boys told me all schools weren't like this. I hope that is true. I really want to eat my lunch in peace sometimes. I set my bag under the table as I take my seat pulling my lunchbox out and onto the table. Everyone is pulling out their lunch as well, but I notice immediately we are missing two people.
"Where are Luke and North?" I ask the group. Kota immediately turns to me.
"Mr. B needed them for something. They'll be spending lunch in his office." I immediately become suspicious. That is an awfully big coincidence.
"Does it have to do with the surprise?" I ask hoping someone will tell me something.
"What sur-ugh," Gabriel cuts off as he leans forward. He groans in pain holding his gut. Nathan turns to him immediately and apologizes.
"I'm sorry man, it just slipped."
"Gabe I think Mr. B was trying to reach you earlier you should check your messages," Kota tells him. I wonder why Owen was looking for him, but it's not my business. I look over Gabe concerned he might really be hurt. He brings his phone out to look at it after telling Nathan it was okay.
"You have a little something," I mumble moving my napkin towards his face. There's a little streak of blue on his cheek. I brush it off and I notice his face looks red.
"Thanks, Trouble," he tells me. "I got really into fucking art last period. It's why I hadn't checked my phone. Thanks for the reminder Kota."
"Gabe man, I didn't know they let you do that kind of art at school," Nathan teases. Gabriel tries to stutter out a response but ends up just glaring at him. I don't get the joke but Gabriel is obviously uncomfortable. I decide to change the subject to what I really want to know.
