"But Sir -"

"I don't care. We need her. She is too powerful to be sitting in ice!" Alexander Pierce snapped to his HYDRA counterpart, "Now wake her up! I don't want any more time wasted."

-

Tucked away in the suburbs of Washington D.C., a grand house stood dimly lit. The owner - Alexander Pierce. The front of the house was decorated with glass windows, inside a well furnished house - showing the true wealth of Alexander. Alexander wandered the halls of his home and found his way to the kitchen. He shuffled along the floor dressed in his pajamas and opened the refrigerator. He pulled out the carton of milk but while looking back over the island of his grand kitchen, he noticed Barnes sitting at his kitchen table, shielding by the darkness. Despite asking Barnes to come to him, Alexander couldn't help but do a double take. Barnes remained silent and composed, a pistol laying on the table. Alexander stared at the man sitting across the room, slowly shutting the door of the refrigerator. The look of fear in his eyes.

A gentle voice spoke from down the hall, "I'm going to go, Mr. Pierce." Renata, the maid for the Pierce family. Picking up more hours by staying so late in the evening. "You need anything before I leave."

Alexander cleared his throat, "No," He said, "Uh, it's fine, Renata, you can go home."

The woman, several feet short of the kitchen collected her things, "Okay. Night-night." Renata turned on her heels and made her way out of the house.

"Good night." Alexander called to her. Once the sound of Renata shutting the door behind her echoed throughout the house, Alexander found the courage to speak. "Want some milk?" He asked the soldier moving along his kitchen and pulling a glass from a cabinet. Barnes remained quiet. Alexander returned to his original post, not taking his eyes away from Barnes. "The timetable has moved." He spoke as he poured himself a half glass of milk. "Our window is limited." Alexander took a swig from his glass and moved around the island and bravely sat opposite Barnes at the table. "Two targets. Level Six. They've already cost me Zola." Alexander looked straight into Barnes' eyes, "I want confirmed death in ten hours." Barnes just stared straight at the man giving him these missions - missions to take down S.H.I.E.L.D. Probably Barnes' most difficult missions to date. "I'm giving you aid." Alexander spoke. Barnes furrowed his brow slightly offended. How could Alexander not trust him with this mission. "Ah, here she is now."

Opening up the back door across the room from the two men was Katherine Stark - although HYDRA only refer to her as Katherine, everyone knew of her identity. A part of HYDRA were waiting for the day they could unleash their greatest weapon against Tony Stark - Iron Man - himself. Forcing him to fight someone who he could not, it was a dangerous move but a move they were so willing to take.

Katherine approached the two men at the table and took a seat, Barnes almost shocked to see her. Despite their memories being wiped after each mission, they always knew of each other and knew of their trust - their bond.

"Sorry," A gentle voice spoke from behind them in the hallway to the kitchen, "Mr Pierce, I - I forgot my phone." Renata stood awkwardly as Alexander  was quick to whip his head around. Barnes and Katherine both glaring at the woman. There was a deafening silence between the two parties, Renata gulping.

Alexander looked disappointed and dropped his head, "Oh Renata," Alexander spoke, "I wish you would have knocked." Alexander turned his head and glanced between the pistol resting on the table and Katherine sitting with her arms folded. Alexander steadied his gaze on Katherine who subtly nodded. Katherine held her fist to Renata, flames shooting from her, setting Renata ablaze. The woman screamed as she dropped to the floor trying to put herself out but Katherine's power was just too powerful and too hot for the human body to withstand for more than a couple of minutes. Katherine felt good, she was back.
