forty-six - walk through the fire

Bruce attended to Tony - giving him a sedative. Pepper joined his side, sitting in a chair beside his bed. He looked peaceful, asleep in the bed. Katherine removed his glasses from his face and placing them gently on the bedside cabinet. Bruce stood at the end of the bed, monitoring the elder of the Starks. Katherine sighed, glancing through the glass to the group who awaited outside of the room. 

Katherine left Tony's side, greeting Steve, Rhodey and Carol. "Bruce gave him a sedative." She spoke, "He's probably gonna be out for the rest of the day." 

Steve hung his head - Katherine noticing this but she was pulled from her thoughts as Carol spoke up, "You guys take care of him and I'll bring him an Xorrian elixer when I come back." She stood with her arms folded, confidence radiating from her. 

Carol looked between the trio before turning on her heels and heading toward the labs - the exit. Katherine furrowed her brows at Carol's departure, "Where are you going?" Steve asked. 

"To kill Thanos." 

Katherine looked to Steve, sharing a look of confusion. The look lasted longer than either had expected but the pair were genuinely confused at Carol's statement. Katherine decided to follow her, "Hey." She called, catching Carol's attention as she walked through the labs. Carol stopped and turned to Katherine, "You know, we usually work as  team here and between you and I, morale's a little fragile."

Steve and Rhodey followed suit, standing behind Katherine, "We realize up there is more your territory, but this is our fight too." Steve said. 

"You even know where he is?" Rhodey spoke up, folding his arms tightly across his chest.

"I know people who might." 

"Don't bother." A voice spoke up from the opposite side of the room. Katherine looked behind Carol to see Nebula standing in the doorway of the study - being notably absent since arriving several hours prior. "I can tell you where Thanos is." 

Nebula was the daughter of Thanos, possessing information not many people would know. Steve and Rhodey gathered the rest of the team and everyone gathered back in the study, standing around the table - Katherine cleaning up Tony's mess before everyone arrived.

Nebula leaned against the back wall of the study, Steve, Natasha, Rhodey and Katherine all standing around the table. Bruce stood in the doorway, while Carol stood to the side. Rocket stood on top of the table while Thor sat in the corner of the room, sitting at a table eating whatever snacks he could get his hands on. 

"Thanos spent a long time trying to perfect me." Nebula spoke, "And when he worked, he talked about his Great Plan. Even disassembled, I wanted to please him. I'd ask, where would we go once his plan was complete? And his answer was always the same." Nebula stood upright, approaching the desk in the center of the room and placing her hands down, sighing heavily, "To the Garden." 

"That's cute." Rhodey spoke up, "Thanos had a retirement plan."  

Steve walked around the table, "So, where is he?" He asked. 

Rocket turned on the projector at his feet, displaying a holographic image almost as big as he was. It was that of a earth, "When Thanos snapped his fingers," Rocket spoke, "Earth became ground zero for a power surge of ridiculously cosmic proportions." A powered explosion occurred on the hologram - Wakanda where Thanos snapped his fingers. The hologram lighting up displaying the power of the Stones, "No one's ever seen anything like it. Until two days ago -" Rocket continued to display another planet, galaxies away. Another planet was displayed for everyone - similar to that of Earth, "- On this planet."
