"Oh we blew it." Katherine and Steve heard Tony's voice ring in their ears. Alarms began ringing throughout the tower, alerting everyone of Loki's disappearance. Katherine looked around frantic, hoping that they wouldn't be caught, taking precautions turning each corner.
"Tony," Katherine spoke, "What's going on?"
Katherine marched at a faster rate than Steve, wanting to exit the building as soon as possible, "Tell me you found that cube." Steve spoke, trailing behind. Katherine stopped dead in her tracks, looking straight ahead. Steve continued walking, stopping by Katherine's side, "Oh you gotta be shitting me." He sighed heavily, looking ahead also.
Approaching, across a glass bridge, Steve from 2012 approached. He sported his older suit, his mask shielding half of his face. "That's the guy I married?" Katherine said quietly, nudging Steve noticing how ridiculous his costume choice was back then.
Steve rolled his eyes at Katherine's comment, "I have eyes on Loki," 2012 Steve spoke - Captain America - holding a finger to his ear, "14th floor. He has an accomplice."
Katherine sighed, glancing to Steve beside her and looking back at the Captain America stood before her, armed with his shield. "I'm not Loki." Steve spoke. "And I don't want to hurt you."
Katherine snapped her head to Steve. "Don't do this." Katherine spoke in a whisper to him, but Steve kept his eyes fixated on his past self.
But Captain America initiated the battle, lunging forward and swinging his shield only for Steve to meet him halfway and defend using his shield - the collision of vibranium echoing throughout the mezzanine, the noise travelling through to the 14 floors below. Both Steve's swung their shields at one another, Katherine jumping with fright as the pair didn't hold back with harming one another.
Katherine lowered the scepter to the floor, hoping she didn't need to jump in. Captain America took a step back from Steve and swung his foot, barely missing Steve's face. As Steve was about to return a kick to the body of Captain America, he countered and kneed Steve in the chest. Steve flew across the glass bridge, landing at Katherine's feet. "I can do this all day." Captain America spoke.
Steve climbed to his knees, "Yeah, I know, I know." He panted. Katherine stepped over Steve holding out her palms, throwing the Captain America away from Steve. He landed several feet away, hard on his back.
Steve looked to Katherine, "Go. Get the scepter and go. I can hold him off."
"But, Kat -"
" - Just go."
Steve climbed to his feet, grabbing the handle of the case and began heading back the way the pair came from, finding an alternative route to the floors below. Captain America climbed back to his feet, coming face to face with his new opponent. Captain America didn't waste any time and threw his shield in Katherine's direction. Katherine ran forward, as did Captain America, engaging in hand-to-hand combat, something Katherine never thought she'd do again.
Katherine threw a knee to his torso while he threw an uppercut. He grabbed Katherine by the shoulders engaging in a clinch, throwing a knee to her mid-section. Katherine grunted, forgetting how strong Steve was. Katherine grabbed onto one of his shoulders with one hand, while the other held the back of his neck. She returned a knee to his body. He grunted, pushing her toward the edge of the bridge - the force and strength between the two causing the glass to shatter, falling several stories below.
Katherine managed to push Captain America from her using the air around him. She proceeded to ignite her fists, throwing flames in his direction. Captain America ducked her flames, lunging toward his shield. He used his shield to deflect any oncoming flames. All of a sudden, Steve ran up behind Captain America, kicking him in the back. Captain America fell forward as Steve re-joined the fight. "Steve." Katherine gasped, "I told you to leave."
