"Well there's my dashing bride." Steve spoke, holding out his hand.
Katherine made her way down the stairs, wearing a midi flowy white dress that sat off her shoulders. It was synched at the waist, accentuating her hips. She wore white heels that strapped at her ankle, white gloves and a thick pair of black sunglasses, "If only I felt so dashing." Katherine moaned, taking Steve's hand, receiving his aide stepping down the last few steps. Her hair bounced with each step, high volume curls brushing past her shoulders.
"I'm glad you had a good night." Steve spoke, lightly kissing Katherine's knuckles - forgetting that they were metal.
Steve let go of Katherine's hand. He wore a white shirt and grey suit trousers. He looked fresh - a lot fresher than Katherine felt. She wore light makeup to cover the bags under her eyes - sleeping in the guest room of the cabin and driving back with Happy early this morning. She was tired but didn't let it stop her from enjoying the day. Katherine gathered her last few bits in her hand held purse - silver to go with her outfit. She wore the same jewelry as she did the day before - too drunk and tired to change them. "Oh," Katherine spoke, closing up her purse, ready to leave, "Don't get mad."
Steve smirked, "What did you do?"
Katherine bit on the tip of her finger, "I may have drunkenly invited Tony and Pepper over for dinner tonight."
"Now you tell me?!"
Katherine reached out, grabbing Steve's hand, "Don't be like that. It's fine. We'll stop off at the store on the way home. Or we get take out." Steve sighed, "Tony wanted to visit. He hasn't seen you or the house since he left the Compound."
Steve intertwined his fingers with Katherine's, holding her hand by his side, "Does he know that we're getting married?"
"Yes. Of course. He is quite happy for us, actually. Or maybe that was the booze talking." Katherine giggled.
Steve slowly nodded his head before checking his wrist, "We better get going."
Steve drove the couple to the district courthouse, arriving just on time for their 10am appointment. They walked inside, waiting among other couples and individuals waiting to see the judge. There wasn't as many people present unlike what Katherine was expecting. She hadn't really been to the town other than shopping for groceries - it was only then she truly saw the effects of the snap.
She tried not to dwell on it as this was supposed to be a happy day. They sat side by side along a long hallway, big wooden doors either side, their hands intertwined. "Mr. Rogers and Miss Stark." A woman spoke from a door at the end of the hallway. Katherine and Steve got to their feet and followed the woman into the room.
A judge sat at a podium at the top of the room. There was a large desk situated in front of the podium with two chairs in front. The woman stood at the door, a case file in her hands. The judge - Judge Hayden, was a middle aged man, reading through sheets of paper in his hand, a pair of spectacles sitting on the bridge of his nose. He glanced to the couple, almost doing a double take.
Steve and Katherine sat down in the respective chairs in front of the desk, looking to the judge with smiles on their faces. "Mr. Steve Rogers and Miss Katherine Stark." Judge Hayden read aloud from his piece of paper. He looked to the pair, "Sorry, I'm just double checking that you both are in fact who you said you are."
"Yes, sir." Steve responded confidently.
"Well, Janet -" Judge Hayden spoke to the woman, "- I am happy to be presiding over your case this morning." Janet, the woman, approached and placed two documents in front of each Steve and Katherine. "All we need is a quick signature and you're good to go." Janet placed down two pens in front of the couple, "Sign on the dotted line on the bottom. By signing the document you accept the terms of marriage with one another."
