I have a crush on my brothers best friend, Alexander Vincent Schmidt. He and my brother have been friends since kindergarten so I have always known him because he's always over at my place. My brother Andreas is a year and a half younger than me. I'm 18 and he's 16 so we are pretty close in age. Alex is the same age as my brother. If Andreas found out I have a crush on Alex. I know he wouldn't be happy. I just know he wouldn't so I won't say anything but if I told Alex, my brother would find out. Alex has always been the boy I've known because of his friendship with my brother. He has been like a brother to me too. I do find him very cute and really sweet too. He and Andreas are always playing video games and going to the skatepark or playing sports. Typical boys eh. I had to stay late at school today because I'm working on a group science project so I had to stay late to finish it. It's done now so I can go home and chill. Alex comes round quite often. Sometimes after school to hangout with Andreas for a couple of hours. Sometimes he stays for dinner which is good. I have just arrived home now. I kick off my shoes and take off my jacket before going upstairs. I hear noises from Andreas's room. Alex is over. I open the door quietly and walk in. "Hey, boys" I say. "Hey, sis. What you doing?" Andreas said. "Just come in to see you guys" I say. "Hey, Y/ N" Alex smiles. "Hey" I say. I walk out and leave the boys to play their games before Andreas gets mad at me. I go into my room and kick back and relax. My mom called me down and asked me to take out the trash so I did so. Me and Andreas take it in turns to take the tray out every night. My turn night. As I come in from taking the trash out, I was startled by Alex. Looks like he was leaving. "Leaving so soon, Alex" I say. "Yeah unfortunately, Y/ N. My mom wants me back" he said. "Okay safe journey home" I say. "Yep thanks. Oh, Y/ N. I'd like to hangout just me and you sometime if you want" Alex said. "Yeah yeah sure. I would like that, Alex. Thanks. It would be nice" I reply. "Okay I will text you when. I have your number" he said before leaving. I was blushing a little because Alex said he wants to hangout with me. Yay! I never get time with him

It's a few weeks later and Alex and I are hanging out just the two of us this afternoon. Andreas doesn't know that we are hanging out and I don't think he would be happy. I've told him I'm just meeting some of my girl friends today. Alex and I are going to the mall for a couple of hours. I am almost ready to go now. It will be great to hangout with Alex just the two of us. I grab my bag and walk out the door and get on the next bus to the mall. Alex is already there he said. I arrive about 20 minutes later and see him waiting outside. "Hey, Y/ N. How are you?" Alex smiles. "Hi, Alex. I'm fine" I say. "Okay well it's cool that it's just the two of us" he said. "Yes it is. Andreas doesn't have to know" I say. "Yep that's right. I know he's my best mate but I don't have to tell him everything" Alex said. "Quite right" I say. Alex and I walk around the mall together talking and looking in shops. He let me look where I wanted to. "Do you need any new clothes, Y/ N?" he asks. "I don't think I really need anything. I just like to look. Haha. Typical girl" I laugh. "Yeah you do right" he laughs. Alex looks at things he likes. He likes looking in sporty shops. He's a sporty guy. I watch him look at things. After looking round the shops for a while, we come away empty handed but we weren't too bothered just as long as we got to hangout. Alex and I went to McDonald's as we were hungry afterwards. We both got burgers, fries and drinks. We found a table. "Oh I'm so ready for this, man" he said. "Definitely I am too" I reply. We eat and try to talk at the same time. "Delicious" Alex said when he had finished. "Yes it was" I reply. "So, Y/ N. I wanted to hangout with you because there is something I want to say to you" Alex said. "Okay" I smile. "Well me and your brother are best friends but that doesn't stop me feeling a different way about you, Y/ N. I think you are the most beautiful girl I have ever met. I have liked you since we were little but I have a crush on you now" Alex said touching my hand. I couldn't stop smiling and blushing. "Awwww, Alex. You're so cute and adorable. Actually I've had a crush on you for years too. I was too scared to admit it to you because you're best friends with my brother" I say. Alex and I have a little close romantic moment together. We had a great time at the mall together and admitted our long term crushes on each other. Alex is so sweet and I do have a crush on him

Alex and I have been secretly seeing each other for the last few weeks. Yes we have been dating. We've been sneaking around behind Andreas's back but we don't care. We don't care what he thinks. We are happy sneaking around and seeing each other. We try to do it when Andreas isn't around. He is away on a football camp so he won't be back till later. Alex wanted to go but he didn't get in. Andreas has always been better at football than him I just say. Alex is over at my place now. It's a good time to have him over till Andreas comes back. He's been gone for two days so I've had two days seeing Alex which is great. He loves to kiss me and cuddle me. I think he's a little obsessed with my lips. We are sat on my bed in my room now talking and hanging out. "You are my first and only girlfriend, Y/ N" Alex says. "Yes I hope I'm your only girlfriend" I laugh. "Yes you are. One and only girlfriend" he smiles. "Just that you've never referred to me as your girlfriend before, Al" I say. "Well you are my girlfriend, Y/ N because we are dating so we are boyfriend and girlfriend" Alex said. "Yes" I smile. Andreas will be home soon so we spend time together while we can. "Can I kiss you?" Alex smiles. "Sure. Can I kiss you?" I smirk. "I think you can" he smiles. Alex shuffles closer to me and starts kissing my lips. We make out for a little while. Don't worry nothing more or too intense. As we were making out, my bedroom door opens and Andreas walks in. He startles us. "Don't you know how to knock" I say. "What's going on? You two were making out" he said. "Ummmm yeah it was that" Alex said. "You two dating or something" Andreas said. "Yes we are, bro. Sorry we didn't tell you. We didn't think you would approve" I say. "What? You're my sister and he's my best friend. It's weird" he said. "Well you'll just have to find it weird because we are dating and we are happy together" I say. "Fine. Be happy but I'm not okay with it" Andreas said. "Maybe I should've asked your permission before asking your sister out but I wanted her to be the first to know how I felt" Alex said. "Yeah okay. You two have fun" Andreas said walking out my room. "Shit that saw close" I said to Alex. "I know. He's not happy. Hope it doesn't affect our friendship. He's my best friend" he said. "Nah I think he'll be fine. He's just mad and will cool down eventually. Trust me he'll be happy in a few days" I say. "Yeah probably" Alex smiles. "Anyway" I say kissing him. I wasn't flaky that Andreas just walked in on us to find out making out. I guess he'll be okay with us being together eventually

5 years later and Alex and I are still together. I'm now 23 and he's 21. We are in a happy relationship. We had a rocky relationship over the last few years. It took Andreas a while to accept us being together but he's fine with it now. He has a nice girlfriend himself now. We go on double dates sometimes. Now that Alex and I are adults we are thinking about the future more and getting married. We do want to get married in a few years time. We just love spending time together and doing fun and crazy things. Alex is over at my place tonight and we are spending the night together. I got my own place last year when I graduated college. Alex has his arms around me and is holding me close. Making out is something we still love. "Alex" I say. "What, babe?" he replies. "I don't know" I laugh. "Dang it, I love you" Alex says kissing me. "I love you too, Alexander Vincent Schmidt" I say. "You know it really turns me on when you say my full name, babe" he said. "Yes" I laugh. "I can't wait to marry you. Not just now but in a few years time" I say. "Yes me too. You'll be my wife one day" Alex said. "And you'll be my husband one day" I say. Alex pulls me in and embraces me with a hug. Yes 5 years later we are still happily together after liking each other for so long. Since we were kids. I think we were always meant to be
