"Are we all set?" Jaya asks as she turns around from the front door to face this interesting group of friends, "And are you certain that you're okay to walk, (Y/N)?"

Leorio turns towards you with a worried look evident on his face, "Yeah, you really shouldn't push yourself, (Y/N). You won't be able to recover if you don't rest and take care of yourself."

Bennett nods in agreement with Leorio's words, his own face showing his obvious concern for your weakened state, "We can stay here for a little longer so you can regain more of your strength back!"

You're about to argue back to their words, but Izunavi easily reads your mind and lets out a hearty chuckle, a knowing grin on his face as he casually says, "As if Cloak would ever agree to that. Did you both suddenly forget how stubborn she is?"

"No, but-" Bennett starts, before getting cut off by you.

"Izunavi, I hate you, but you're right."

He scoffs at this, "As always."

You roll your eyes and turn to look at your overly worried brother, "Bennett, you don't need to stress about me. I'll have more time to recover in the car while we're driving."

"But what if we get attacked again??" Leorio loudly questions you as he moves to stand closer to Bennett, "It's only natural for your brother to be so worried about you!"

Bennett fervently nods in agreement with Leorio's truthful words, "He's right! If we get attacked, can you defend yourself? I'm not strong enough to protect you alone."

"I'll be fine. You two can quit worrying and overthinking this. We're not going to separate this time so we'll all be near each other," You point out to them in your defense, "We need to leave now before Shadow gets too far ahead of us."

Bennett lets out a defeated sigh before looking up at you with a nervous smile, "Okay. I guess there's no way for me and Leorio to get through to you. We'll just be really careful."

"Indeed. That was always the plan," Jaya says, reinserting herself into the conversation, "Perhaps I should ride with (Y/N) and Bennett instead."

"Yes! Please do!" Bennett exclaims in favor of this idea, "You're much stronger than me, and you can protect (Y/N) if something happens."

Jaya nods once in response to this, a small smile forming on her face, "My thoughts, exactly. Do not fret, Bennett. We will keep (Y/N) safe."

"I'm not dying so quit acting like I am," You pout and cross your arms, looking away from them.

Jaya lets out a quiet chuckle at this, "Very well. We should hurry to the cars."

Everyone lets out sounds of agreement, prompting Jaya to carefully push the door open and walk outside in front of everyone else. Each person in your group trails behind her, with you being the very last one to leave the house.

The blunt woman scans the outside area before pointing ahead of her, "We parked the cars over there. Come-"

Seemingly from out of nowhere, a strange figure swoops in from above, moving incredibly fast. Before anyone even has time to react, the figure has already grabbed you and thrown you over their shoulder as their feet touch the ground. They jump again, and unfortunately, you don't have the strength to fight your way out of their grip. As you're both soaring upwards from their jump, you reach out for Bennett, and he reaches out for you in return, but you're just out of his grip. He thinks quickly and uses his nen to send out a vine from a tree near the kidnapper, the vine wrapping around their leg. The figure almost instantly predicts this and uses a switchblade to cut themself free from the vine. You and the figure both disappear into the sunset leaving your friends completely dumbfounded.
