First off, I am so sorry for the long wait! This is a long chapter to make up for it! Thank you so much for your support and reads. It means the world to me. I just want to clarify that this is not the last chapter. There will be a Part Twenty-Five and then an Epilogue so don't get too sad yet! I'm super excited to release this and I hope it meets everyone's standards! Enjoy!
Back in Jaya's room, your fight with Ryuu remains ongoing. It's obvious to you that Ryuu is starting to grow annoyed with your constant dodging and quick counterattacks that are making it impossible for him to lay his hands on you.
"Regretting your decision to try and kill me yet?" You ask him as you pant profusely, your chest heaving with every breath, your daggers held out in front of you defensively, "Stronger men than you have tried and failed, you know?"
Ryuu clicks his tongue, "Tch, I find that difficult to believe."
"I'm still alive, aren't I?" You gesture to yourself.
"Your underhanded tactics to ruin my concentration hold little meaning to me," He says as he shakes his head, "Shall we quit wasting time and finish this? Surely, we're both fully aware of how this will end."
"Yes, we are."
You close your eyes as you inhale deeply. Ryuu utilizes this opportunity to rush toward you at a ridiculously fast speed. Just as he's about to reach you, your eyes shoot open and a duplicate of yourself forms on the right side of him. You teleport to your duplicate's place, allowing your replica to take the blow for you and disappear on impact.
Ryuu quickly turns toward you, but you create another clone of yourself on the left side of him and trade places with it. You throw your dual daggers in the air and make as many duplicates of them as you can. They float in the air before you thrust them all towards him with no hesitation.
Ryuu grunts as he focuses his aura defensively to block the daggers from making contact with his body, they bounce off of his nen shields and land on the ground harmlessly. The other daggers catch his robes, sending him hurtling backward and leaving him pinned against the wall.
Having finally limited his movements in this constricted room, you waste no time teleporting out of the room and down the corridor away from him, 'I'll be back as soon as I can, Jaya! I need to make this a fair fight.'
The obvious place to escape to is the garden outside where you have plenty of space to fight Ryuu without endangering yourself. The garden is also where you and Kurapika had agreed to meet had some type of problem occurred.
You burst through the doors leading to the garden and race down the cement path leading into the flowers. Before you can get too far, the doors that you had just passed through are blown off of their hinges and land on opposite sides of the garden. Turning around swiftly, your eyes meet his, both of you unmoving for several seconds.
"I had almost forgotten about that little trick of yours," He takes a step forward slowly as if he's stalking his prey, "You caught me off-guard for half a second. I hope you're feeling proud of yourself."
"Only slightly," Your hands are already hovering over your dual daggers, awaiting his next move, "You're really arrogant for someone who's about to get his ass handed to him."
He belligerently rolls his eyes at your quip, "I see you haven't changed a bit. Besides getting more vulgar that is."
Without another word, he appears directly in front of you, his speed somehow increasing greatly. You barely avoid his attack, his fist almost grazing your side. You use your ability to make a copy of yourself behind him and switch spots with it. Ryuu turns around to face you almost immediately, easily reading your upcoming moves. You teleport behind him again, making sure to create some space between you and him.
