The weekend goes by much quicker than you had anticipated.
You enjoy a nice lunch at a local diner with Leorio, Nova, Bennett, and Kurapika. Nova talks about how she was promoted to a different part of the hospital, and she seems to be in good spirits. Bennett easily gets along with her after his initial nervousness passes. They quickly bond with each other over telling different stories about you. You each sit around a table, talking and catching up.
"Yeah, (Y/N) was always really stubborn. But I guess that's why her and Kurapika get along so well," Bennett remarks to Nova, a laugh accompanying his statement.
Leorio lets out an absurdly loud laugh after hearing this, while Kurapika perks up an eyebrow at him, glowering at Bennett. Bennett's laugh soon transforms into a nervous one, and fades out.
Nova's giggles and a gentle placement of your hand on top Kurapika's are the only things that keep the mood from shifting to a much darker tone.
"That's what makes them both so strong. I wish I could do amazing things like them, but I'm only a nurse.." Nova replies, feeling a little distraught, but she picks herself up quickly, "Sorry. I mean, I love my job, and wouldn't trade it for anything."
"That's the spirit!" Leorio cheers her on, giving her a big thumbs-up. "Besides, you save lives, and that's already more than most people do!"
Each of you nod simultaneously along with this.
Kurapika crosses his arms, looking away from the table, "For once, Leorio says something intelligent." He makes direct eye contact with Leorio, a small smirk gracing his features, "I suppose there is a first for everything."
"Oi!!" Leorio is quick to anger, his face burning red, "You never hold back, do you?"
Everyone simply chuckles at his reaction, and continues on with their conversation. Each of you finish your food, still chatting, and sit around the table waiting for the bill.
Bennett rubs the back of his neck, nervously, as he works up the nerves to say something to the blonde-haired man, "Kurapika.." Kurapika turns to face him with an expressionless face, causing him to feel even more anxious, "I-i know we got off on the wrong foot. But I wish you the best of luck on your journey. I'll take care of (Y/N) for you while you're gone. I know she really cares about you.."
Kurapika is pleasantly surprised by his kind words, and allows a small smile to form on his face. "Thank you, Bennett. While I trust (Y/N) to take care of herself, the sentiment is much appreciated. I suppose that you are much easier to tolerate than Leorio."
Leorio crosses his arms, and looks away from the table, muttering curse words under his breath. Bennett looks shocked, and he begins to tear up a little bit.
"That's the nicest thing you've ever said to me.." He gets up from the table, much to Kurapika's chagrin, and walks over to him, pulling him into a bone-crushing hug.
Kurapika tries to pull away, but Bennett doesn't let him. His eyes plead with yours for help. You let out a soft chuckle, and wait a few moments before saying, "Alright, Bennett. That's enough. I'm starting to get jealous over here."
Bennett finally pulls away, muttering a, "Sorry, I just got carried away."
Meanwhile, Kurapika lets out a long sigh of relief. He leans over towards you, whispering, "Thank you, (Y/N). I should have been prepared for that."
You subtly nod to this, glancing over at him having a conversation with Nova, "Yeah, he's still very emotional. Thanks for being nice to him, though. Look how happy he is now."
