They stated there for a little while, at one point laying down and staring up at the stairs. It was a serene moment, a perfect day, neither wanted it to end. But everything must come to an end.
Driving Piper back to her house, Sapnap was thinking of ways to make the car ride back go slower. He could go a longer route or take her somewhere else, but he knew that wasn't a good idea.
So putting his foot on the gas after being stopped at a light, Pipers phone started ringing.
'Hello?' she asked down the phone, she hadn't looked at who called her so was sort of shocked when her management called her.
'We told you we had an offer for you via email and got no response' her manager rather angrily said down the phone, quite startling at first.
'I'll check it out right now' Piper replied, although unmotivated to check. She didn't know why, but she really didn't feel like an acting job right now. She had just got into a relationship, and most of the time meant she would be unavailable.
She hung up, her manager would be annoyed by that but could she care right now? Not at all.
It was a call for an indie movie, something she had grown up doing. Until about age 14 it was always small projects and indie movies, that was until she had a breakthrough and got casted into a semi-famous role.
It seemed like a great role at first. Something that fit her personality and her acting abilities. But then she saw where everything would be filmed, and started questioning whether she should take it.
It would be filmed in Canada. She had wanted to visit there before, but not in her current situation. If she was still single, she definitely would've gone and done it.
Plus, she had already promised her parents she would stay in Texas for a while. They liked her being at home with her, although not in the same house. Additionally, it was starting to become one of her favourite places she had lived.
'You okay?' Sapnap pulled up outside her house, grabbing her hand and squeezing it reassuringly. Pipers eyes flickered between him and her phone and just thought.
'I guess. My manager just got me a call for a job and I don't know whether to take it' she glumly stated, to which Nick asked 'What's the job?'. He was genuinely excited for her, he knew her passion for acting and how important this could be for her.
'Indie movie, something I'd usually go for' Piper was considering things in her mind. It would be great for her career if she took the job. On the other hand, it would be great for herself to stay here.
'Why won't you take the job then?' Nick was sceptical to why Piper wouldn't take it. She was incredibly talented and would definitely do great in it.
'I'd be away from you, in Canada actually' Piper started, Nicks smiled faltering as he heard the words. They hadn't been in a relationship for barely any time, now she might be moving away?
He was scared of him being forgotten about whilst filming. He believed he wasn't the perfect person, so what if she met that person and he was left behind. That would leave him back to before, him sat in his own little world, being alone yet again.
But still, he didn't want to tell her not to do it, that would be controlling. Additionally, he knew how big of a passion for acting Piper had.
The pair both sat in silence, contemplating what they should do.
