Xanders POV
I sat and watched as Pirate lied directly on her chest looking up towards her face as if he was watching her. They say dog's are the only animal that loves their owner more than themselves. I'm starting to believe it. The way he doesn't come away from her. It's like he's scared he'll lose her if he goes to far.
"Morning Princessa, You've been out for a week so it's Saturday today and I was wondering if I could ever see your eyes again. I missed the way they use to glow if you were excited like how they did when you showed me the gym for the first time or how they went dull when you got told you were going my gang. I'm glad you did because if you didn't.... If you didn't I would still be living my sad and lonely life without my princessa" I said trying to hold my tears back for what felt like the billionth time this week.
I looked at her face before sighing "I'm not giving up on you princessa" I said lying my head on the bed. I didn't remember drifting but I did.
Graces POV
I have to get out this coma and quickly. I was bored out of my mind and I needed to let people know I was ok before they all went insane.
I tried to open my eyes but heard my heart rate monitor go up and the rustle of bags. I felt someone grab my hand and squeeze it gently. I tried again to get exact same response. Nothing was working so I tried something else, I tried lifting my finger. It worked clearly because I heard a chair scrapping across the floor and my other being taken.
"You know if you hold my hand my fingers won't move" I said dryly however it came out hoarse. I was cuddled and licked by Pirate. I remember feeling him all throughout my time here and he rarely moved.
"Grace you scared us all half to death" my mother screamed
I laughed slightly knowing it was exactly what she said the last time I was here. I didn't know what else to do or say. I wasn't ashamed of what is happening but at the end of the day I can't walk away from something this seriously.
"Miss Wells, could we ask some questions without family" the doctor came through the door. I looked around the room for the first time and saw that Xander was next to me. He looked rough like he hadn't left his seat. I smiled at him and he returned it before looking towards my parents. I noticed that he was holding my hand but looking unsure about the situation. I gave his hand a squeeze before smiling again.
"Yeah sure" I said. Xander looked at me warily. I looked him in the eyes before nodding. He squeezed my hand tightly before standing and walking away. I looked over to the nurse to see her sat in the chair next to my mother.
"so Grace you do you remember what happened"
"I was gardening with Xanders mum then I blacked out" I said remember everything that happened before I blacked out.
"Yes and we have suspicions you've been training to hard in your boxing due to repercussions of past memories" The nurse explained.
"But I don't remember doing anything to set it off" I replied.
" Have you seen anyone at the scene of the crime since the last the month or so"
"not that I re..... Owen he's a new.... Aquentince I met since being away from home" I said after it struck me he killed my grandfather and I've not been right ever since then I didn't realise that I was that affected by his presence and didn't know I had increased my training. It came natural. In times of stress I increased my training.
"And was he a main suspect when it came to the event"
" yes" I said plainly.
"Then I think it's safe to say you must not go near him under any circumstance his presence if affecting your health and if you not careful enough your life my suggestion is bed rest for rest of the weekend in order to get your strength back up but aside from that you are all free to go" the nurse explained. I thanked her and she left.
After a few seconds my family and friends all rushed into my room before I was squished under a family hug. At first I found it uncomfortable but soon after I adjusted myself I was able to savour the moment. I looked out and over the pile of humans to see Xander standing on his own observing the moment when I nodded to him.
My family soon got off of me before heading out of the room which left me and Xander together. He walked over and sat on my bed.
"Care to explain what happened?" He said rather aggressively.
"Pipe down mister I am delicate" I said jokingly. I watched as his face turned sour. Wow tough crowd.
"Grace I'm being serious the doctors said you could have died and if you leave I don't think I could live without you" he said. He teared up and the only time I have ever seen him do that is when anyone he was close to became close to death.
I pulled him into a hug. He lied down next to me and small silent sobs left him. At that point in time he wasn't the feared gang leader everyone knew him as he was a human being with a heart. People say that if you have a weakness in the gang world they expose it and kill it. Whether it being your family or friends everything you ever loved gets destroyed.
In that moment I realised I love Xander Dark the one person I never wanted to love but somehow ended up loving no matter what.
