When Clary woke a horrid smell filled her nostrils. It was like rotten eggs. She turned and saw the puddle of sick a few feet from her, the sight nearly prompted her to be sick again. She turned away from it, onto her side, facing the words written in blood. The reason why she was sick in the first place.
Clary had fallen asleep on her stomach and it felt as if all her organs were moving as she shifted her position. She though hit to the night before, when Sebastian had kissed her and shuddered. Raising a hand to her lips, she felt the swollen skin. Her cheek was next, the skin was hot and sore and Clary wondered how much damage had been done to her face.
She was sure that Sebastian had bit her lip when he kissed her and sure enough she felt a small scab on her bottom lip. It repulsed her to know what her brother wanted of her. He didn't just want her to be his sister, to stand by him he wanted her in a way that Jace would. It sickened her to know what Sebastian wanted from her. Not just her approval, her love, her devotion. Her promise to stand by him.
Just then, her stomach churned. Clary realised that she hadn't eaten anything or drank anything in that matter for a long time. She hated how Sebastian had so much power over her. No one knew where they were, they couldn't trace her. She was all alone with Sebastian without Jace to protect her and that thought frightened her out of her wits.
"Are you awake?"
Clary screemed in fright as the voice entered the empty room. She hastily sat up and saw Sebastian sitting a few feet from her, his legs folded beneath him.
He was watching her with a wicked smile, but that smile turned into a grin when he heard her scream.
"Clarissa, I was only asking a question," he laughed. Clary wanted to hit him but the chains she was attached to stopped her from doing just that.
Clary inhaled a cloud of the damp air and managed to hold back a cough. Sebastian inclined his head to the side and blinked.
"What?" Clary snarled at him.
"You slept for a long time." His words sent a chill through Clary's blood.
"You were watching me?" she questioned even though she knew the probable answer. An answer that she didn't want to hear escape her lips.
"Of course," Sebastian said this as if it was a perfectly obvious answer which to him it was. He said it as if he didn't understand why Clary would ask the question in the first place.
Clary was sure she was going to be sick once more, the puddle still lay several feet from her. The horrid smell adding to the one already in the air.
"You slept for over ten hours," Sebastian informed her. She didn't look at him but to the words that he had printed in blood. She wondered whose blood it was in and then wondered if it might even be Sebastian's.
"Did you watch me for all of that time?" Clary questioned, still not able to look into the marble face of him. To see his white hair and onyx eyes. Clary thought of how different her life might have been if her family hadn't been Shadowhunters'. If Valentine hadn't have had his obsession against Downworlders. If he hadn't experimented with their mother, giving her demon blood and making Sebastian the way he was. It was a hatred Clary held against Valentine for taking away the brother she could have. But Clary could not imagine Sebastian with green eyes or with an ounce of goodness in his body. He was too evil for his own good.
"No, not the whole time. The last hour I have. There were things I needed to attend to." Sebastian uncurled his legs from beneath him and stood, not looking at Clary until he was at the door. What he had said had caused a question to form on Clary's tongue.
"Where are we?" she demanded, determined to get an answer out him. She needed to know where she was, she need to get back to Jace, to tell him that he didn't let her down. But, when Sebastian looked at her, he grinned a wicked grin.
"Why would I tell you Clarissa?" he asks. Clary felt that spark of anger at him once more but an idea came into her head as he aimed to close the door he had stepped through.
"A brother shares things with his sister!" she called, hoping for him to tell her something. Anything.
Sebastian pushed the door open and looked at Clary with a raised brow.
"What did you just say?" he dared her and Clary suddenly felt a surge of confidence.
"Brothers and sisters share things sometimes. They tell each other the secrets they don't want their parents to know." It's what Clary had done with Simon and he her. Whenever they had a secret that they didn't want to tell their parents they told each other. This seemed to spark Sebastian's interest.
"They share things, do they?" he inquired, coming further into the room.
"Yes," Clary urged.
"Alright, little sister. I'll tell you where we are if you share your feelings for me."
Clary's mouth fell open into an 'o' shape.
"What?" she squeaked. Sebastian came fully into the room and strode toward her. He crouched down in front of her and took hold of her chin, alowing his breaths to mix with hers.
"Tell me how you feel about me and I'll tell you where we are." He repeated, daring her to let her words fall out of her mouth.
"Sebastian..." Clary trailed off and Sebastian smirked, letting go of her chin.
"Are you hungry?" he asked her, just then Clary's stomach growled loud enough for them bother to hear. Sebastian smirked at the sound and leaned back, away from her face.
"Yes," Clary answered even though that was already clear.
Sebastian reached for her hands and disconnected her wrists from the floor. He did the same with her ankles but his fingers lingered on the exsposed skin their and Clary felt tingles spread through her body at the unwanted touch.
When she was no longer attached to the floor, Sebastian raised himself to his feet. He didn't offer a hand to Clary, not that she would have taken it, and moved toward to the door.
Clary didn't move.
Sebastian reached the door and looked back over his shoulder. "Are you coming little sister?" he asked.
Clary felt a shiver pass over her body before getting to her feet. She was a little wobbly on her feet but she managed to stand. Making her way over to the door, she saw that Sebastian had taken the blindfold from his pocket. Clary looked up at him.
"Turn around," he ordered her.
Clary did so, knowing that she couldn't escape it. And felt a knot form in her stomach as the blackness covered her eyes.
For a moment it was silent and nothing happened and then Sebastian took her hand and squeezed it causing Clary to shiver once more.
Sebastian came close and whispered in her ear. "Trust me, little sister," and then he tugged on her arm and she was led out of the room.
