Diego, Allison, Five and Ellie crammed into the car. The men in front and women in the backseat. The vehicle was parked in front of the police station, every single one of them feeling the weight of the entire situation on thei shoulders. The tension was thick, but the silence they were in was comfortable. Five's pain overwhelmed Ellie, it hurt to know that he was in such pain but it annoyed her to know that he was too stubborn to agree to her healing him, so she tried to offer the next best thing, plucking two petals and opening her palm to him. Five took the petals, only to appease his wife, they were too close for them to stop now. At that point, Diego killed the engine, breathing out noisily before speaking.
"I know this Jenkins dude has to have a record. We just gotta get our hands on that file." He declared not looking in anything in particular as he spoke. Behind him, Allison crossed her arm, scoffing at his statement while looking around the crowded street.
"And your plan is to what? Waltz in there and just ask for it?" She asked her brother, in an overly unimpressed tone.
"I know the station like the back of my hand, sis. I've spent a lot of time inside." The man's reply almost begging to be retorted with.
"In handcuffs." Allison said, making the teenage girl beside her chuckle.
"Whatever, here's the plan." Diego began completely ignoring the blatant insult from his sister, the other sibling in the car wasn't completely clear on what he said either.
"Plan?" Five asked, his voice low and soft, a clear side-effect of the pain he was in. Ellie shook her head feeling completely helpless, she could convince him all she wanted but when Five Hargreeves refused something, he refuses it at all costs. "I'm just gonna blink in and get the file." He said like it's the most obvious thing in the world.
"No you aren't." Ellie said firmly, even leaning forward to prove her point.
"Elle..." He began but was immediately cut off
"No, don't Elle me Five, you are not blinking at all in your state, or so help me god I will..."
"We just did this love, it'll take me two seconds, why don't I just go?" He argued, making the girl huff out in frustration. She was about to speak when Diego called out to her.
"Ellie listen. I'm not letting him go, don't worry. I already make a call. Cause that's what a leader does. He leads."
Diego left his siblings and Ellie inside the car. From what they saw he walked behind an alley following another man, silence engulfing those left once more, although, this time the silence desperately needed to be broken. Ellie was still seething from Five's behavior, the latter feeling both guilty and scared from her reaction. Allison, well, Allison was just stuck in a very awkward situation. The woman coughed, trying to diffuse some tension in the air, her attempt only getting lost in the thickness of it all.
"I really need to call Vanya, if you two would like to join me, you're welcome to do so." She told them before opening the door and climbing out. Not having Allison there made Ellie want to crawl in a hole and die, so she just followed the taller girl outside, hearing Five do the same. She walked closer towards the payphone where Allison was, far enough to her side to give her privacy. She plopped onto the sidewalk hugging her knees to her chest, trying to calm down, but she still felt his pain and it frustrated her to no end. He even had the nerve to blink. She hid her face, trying to keep her emotions at bay.
Allison saw the younger looking girl's struggle, softening as she saw her melancholic form hunched over. She tapped on her shoulder catching her attention. "You okay Elle?" She asked her, her head turning slightly to look at Five behind them who was looking at Ellie's back.
