A Unforgettable Trip: Chapter 20: One Last Breath

The paramedics rushed you into the ER. You were still passed out & didn't know what was going on until finally you opened up your eyes after the surgery to see Emily & Ashley sitting by your hospital bed.
"Emily..." You say weakly. "Oh my god Harmony I'm glad your awake. Don't worry me & Ashley are ok just a bit bruised up." Emily says. "What.. Happened..." You say. "Oh. Well their was a car chase for that mini van the person died when they hit you & ejected you out into the road... Me & Ashley were in tears because we both thought you were dead but luckily your alive & well, just weak. Are you ok?" Emily asks. "I'm fine I'm just... Shaken up..." You say. "Well your Mom came to visit along with Adam. They heard about what happened & their all worried sick. You can decide on who you want to see first."

Emily says as you try to sit up but collapse back down into the bed.
"Woah, don't move the doctors said you broke both of your legs & your back so try not to move. Should I send in your Mom?" Emily asks as you nod.

You had a breathing mask on & you were covered with machinery all over your body. You looked down at yourself seeing stitches holding together the open wounds. You were scared. You didn't know if you would make it through to the end of the day but you hoped that this would all be over soon & you would get better & go home but you just didn't know.
Once Emily let's your Mom, Emma in the room she runs over to you giving you a soft reassuring hug. You patted her on the back while she hugged & then you stopped once she pulled away from hugging you.
"Oh baby girl I'm so glad your ok. I saw what happened on the news because I was watching the chase & then I saw the van crash into the truck & then I saw you fly out &.. ugh... I'm just glad your safe & alive." Emma says as you moan. "Mom. This was my fault..." You say. "No baby it's not. It's the person who was driving the van & crashed into the truck that you were driving. Who's truck is that anyways?" Emma asks as Emily raises her hand & Emma nods. "It's Emily's ok. Well it's not your fault." Emma says. "It is. Because I was the one that wasn't looking & driving the car..." You say. "No no. It's not. It's not your fault."

Emma says as you hear another person come into the room. Adam was staring at you from the door & before you knew it you blinked & he came over to your hospital bed & bent down on his knees & grabbed your hand.

"Adam..." You say. "Yeah, it's me. I heard what happened as well & I got on a plane immediately & flew over to where you are now. Are you ok?" Adam asks. "Adam...Joanne." You say. "No. Don't worry about Joanne she left before this happened because work called her again. Just be glad I can be here with you right now." Adam says. "Can I talk with you...alone?"  You ask as Adam nods & tells everyone to leave the room.

Once everyone leaves the only two people in your room was yourself & Adam Driver.
"What do you need to talk about. Tell me anything. I'm listening." Adam says. "I'm afraid that I might die... Adam." You say. "Oh Harmony. Don't think about death. Never think about death. Your perfectly fine. Your heart rate is fine everything with you right now is fine."

Adam says as he looks back at your heart rate on the monitor. It was decreasing but slowly. Adam couldn't tell you the truth he didn't want to make you more upset & scared.
"Adam what's wrong?" You ask. "Nothing's wrong I was just looking at the birds outside that are chripping songs to you." Adam says as a grin emerges from your face. "See, their you go. Your grinning. Good sighs Harmony." Adam says. "I should probably get some rest." You say. "Yeah. Should I stay here or should I let you sleep in silence?" Adam asks as you grab his hand. "Stay. Stay with me until I say goodbye to this world & all these wonderful people I have in my life." You say. "Harmony your not going to leave this world..." Adam pauses as you nod. "Yes I am. I already know. I saw the monitor. I don't have much time left so let me spend the last of it with you &... Wait where's Ashley? I wanna hold her." You say. "I'll get her. Don't move."

Adam says as he gets up & goes outside of your room to grab Ashley & go back into your room to set Ashley down in your hands.
"Their. You were saying?" Adam says as you grin again. "Let me spend the last of my life with you,  Adam Douglas Driver & you Ashley Ocean."
You say as Adam smiles & gives you a kiss on your head avoiding the stitches.
"I'll still love you even when your gone. Here I decided to take this with me on my way to come & see you."
Adam says as he shows you your wedding ring.
"Aw. Adam your too kind." You say. "You want it on?" Adam asks as you nod & Adam puts the ring on your finger one last time.
"Hey Adam. Harmony." Doctor Amber says as she walks into your room closing the door behind her. "Hi Doctor. How much time does she have left." Adam asks as Amber shakes her head. "I don't know. But I'm gonna start taking something's off of Harmony so she can relax."

Amber says as Adam nods & Amber comes over to you & takes off some of the things on your arms & your legs she didn't bother to take off your breathing mask because she knew you were having a hard time breathing & keeping your heart rate up.
"Adam... I love....."
The monitor started beeping loudly & Amber ran over to it seeing your pulse was completely at zero.
"All doctors please report to room 13 we have a code blue i repeat we have a code blue!" Amber says through the inner come.
"Adam please leave the room." Amber says as Adam leaves the room with tears in his eyes.
Before Amber knew it doctors came into the room trying to get your pulse back up. They tried to restart your heart but nothing worked. "Death 1:20PM."

Amber says as all the doctors in the room put their heads down & prayed. Now it was Amber's job to tell them the bad news.
"Hello Emma, Adam, Emily. I'm afraid that Harmony didn't make it. She's gone. I'm so sorry for your loss." Amber says as Emma crys into Adam's hand while Adam covers one of his hands over his face trying to hold back the tears. While Emily just crys holding onto Ashley tight.
"Can we see her." Adam asks. "Yes you may."

Amber says as she let's Emma, Emily, & Adam into the room.
Once Emma & Adam saw you lay their in the bed eyes shut & not breathing Adam, Emily, & Emma couldn't hold back the tears anymore so they all just cried & cried.
"Come on guys let's let her leave this world." Amber says as she takes Emma, Emily, & Adam out of the room.

N/A- yes I do remember that you had your baby with you when you died & when Amber came in the room with the other doctors Amber took Ashley & put her in Emily's arms that's why Ashley was with Emily at the end if you were wondering.
