I woke up. I had a lot of questions in swirling in my head. What were does things? What do they want in that cabin? Who was this Queen? How did that troll know my name? Then I started calming down. Stupid me. It was just a dream. It was a coincidence. But it felt so real. I thought that maybe I was still asleep. I pinched myself to be sure. Ow! Yep, I'm awake. I looked out the window. It was dark out. I checked the alarm. It was still 02:56. I tried going back to sleep but I couldn't. I tool a flashlight that was under my bed then turned it on. I took the brochure that had all of the different activities. Might as well decide what I want now while it's still early.
I was woken up by the sound of a trumpet playing. Which was off tune. I don't remember sleeping. The brochure was still in my hand but the flashlight was nowhere on sight. Must've fell when I fell asleep. I looked at the alarm clock. It was 06:00 on the dot. What's the point of having an alarm clock if you're not gonna use it. I rubbed the sleep out of eyes and got out if bed. The sheets were dirty because of my boots. "Morning sunshines", greeted Olivia. She was already dressed in her Camp Counsellor T-shirt and a pair of jeans. How early did she wake up. Come to think of it, I don't remember seeing her in her bed after I woke up from that nightmare I had. But I decided to push that thought away. The sun was rising. The lake twinkled as the sun beans hit the water. The grass was still wet from yesterday's rain. "Go get ready and meet me in the mess hall in an hour", she said smiling. Maybe this day was going to be better than yesterday. Or so I thought.
The boys went to the boys' bathrooms and the girld went to the girls' bathroom. There weren't a lot of girls there. I guess we were still early. Or maybe there aren't a lot of girls in this camp. Some girls got undressed and got into the showers. Others were getting dressed already. I felt uncomfortable getting undressed in front of strangers. So I sat on the bench and waited for the others to get done before I get in. Carol waved at me with a bright smile on her face before joining a group of girls. It didn't take that long. Ten minutes and the girls were done and heading to the mess hall. Then I got undressed and got in the showers.
After I was done, I took a towel and wrapped it around me. I went to go check the pair of clothes I bought with me. I took a pair of black jeans, combats boots and a camp T-shirt Olivia gave us before we headed to the bathrooms. What the- they were gone! But how. I left them on the bench. I was the only one here. I checked the bathroom. THREE TIMES! The only thing I could find were my combat boots under the bench. I sighed and wore my boots and headed out of the showers. I checked if the coast was clear. Then I ran to the Wolf cabin. When I got there, I saw my clothes by the entrance. Covered in mud. I heard giggles behind me. I turned around and saw Stephanie and her minion laughing at me. "See you at the mess hall, loser", she giggled, doing the 'L' sign on her forehead before heading off. Calm down, Blaire. Don't get angry. Today you're going to do the favourite you love the most. Archery. And you'll show them all. And maybe shoot an arrow or two at Stephanie.
I looked at the time. 07:30. Dang it. I'm late. I ran to the mess hall and snuck in. I sat next to Olivia and grabbed a couple of pancakes and bacon. "What took you so long", Olivia asked. I glared at Stephanie then told Olivia that I got lost. "Don't worry. You'll eventually get the hang of it. I mean, you have to since you're now a CIT". Did she have to remind me of that. I took a bit in my pancake. They don't taste the same like Mom's. I now miss them. Before I could finish my food, we were told it's time to go to the field to participate in any torture they have in store for us.
