Being heroic is hard work. I started whimpering. I swear, I almost peed myself. I've never thought I'd face a situation like this one without Liam and Olivia. I didn't know what to do. It's game over. If only I agreed to The Queen's offer. No. Blaire, don't you dare think like that. I couldn't give in that easily. Chop chop chop. I looked down below me. They already started chopping the tree. I tried weighing out my options. I stay here and wait to fall into the clutches of the hideous monsters of the night or... yeah, I got nothing. My heart pumped super fast. My fingers were trembling against the branch I was holding onto. I looked around for an possible ideas. I saw a tree that was not so far from the one I was on. Oh boy. I can't do this. I never did well in gym class. How am I going to do this. The tree started to lean towards it. The monsters below got happy. Some of them were pushing the tree. They look like ogres. Or were those orcs? I couldn't clearly see in the dark. I wish I had those powers. With one last push, the tree started to fall. I looked at how far it was and thought if I could make it. I had to. As the tree fell, I jumped off it and grabbed onto the branch of the next tree. The branch was starting to break. Or please don't. I climbed up the tree. I couldn't believe that I made it. I looked for the nearest tree. I stepped back a bit, even though there was enough space. I ran a jumped to the next tree. I held onto the tree for dear life. I looked down. I saw the monsters cutting the fallen tree, looking for me. Dumb monsters. I looked at my final destination. I was almost there. I was about to jump until I heard ons of the werewolves howl. "HEY", yelled a troll. I believe it was Ecaflip. He looked even more horrible. Well, more horrible than a troll should look like. All the monsters looked at where Ecaflip was looking at. "Stop being foolish and look for the girl, imbecile", Zogark scolded him as if he stole a cookie from the jar. "But sir-", "Shut up and do as you're ordered", Zogark cut him off. Ecaflip looked at me. I stood still for a while. Then he went on cutting the tree. I exhaled and jumped onto the next tree. I kept doing this for a while until the coast was clear. I climbed down the tree. I looked around me then I started walking. My hurts hurt from clinging to those branches. I started rubbing them as I walked. I started humming to myself just in case I don't cause a lot of noise. I really missed my music. It started getting cold. I almost puked from the smell. It got stronger every time I took a few steps closer. There were a few trees and bushes that were still healthy. The rest were dying. The flowers were wilting. The sight hurt me. I heard footsteps from behind me. I turned my back and saw nothing. I drew out my bow. I started singing again. I heard a thud. That gave me a fright. I went to see where it came from. It came from the route I was walking. Then I saw a dark figure in front me. It was Ecaflip. I was about to shoot him but he looked daze. He stood there like a statue. He ax was on the ground beside him. Then he shook his head. When he saw him he scowled. I started singing. I don't know why but at that moment it felt like the right thing to do. Ecaflip looked like he was hypnotised. When I stopped, he'd snap out of it. I sang again. This power was so cool, sorta. I started walking away still singing. I used all of my energy on my voice. When there was a distance between us, I stopped singing and started running. When Ecaflip was out of sight I stopped. My whole body felt weak. It was hard to breathe. My head was dizzy. My vision doubled. Maybe it was the singing. I hated this new power. I need to rest for a while. I looked around for a place to sleep. I found nothing. I looked up. Well I had to choice. I used the energy I had left to climb a tree. I tried getting comfortable and hoped I didn't fall. Then I fell asleep.
