I couldn't tell the difference between a dream and reality anymore. I was on a bed. I looked around to see my environment. Looks like I was in some cabin. The bedroom was small. It different have much. There were a few chairs next to the bed, a wardrobe and a painting of some ship in a sea storm. "Blaire", I heard a familiar voice call my name. I didn't notice that someone was in here. My body ached. It took a lot of effort to move my head. When I saw who it was, I started sobbing. "There there, kiddo. It's alright. I'm here now", Dad reassured me. I wanted to get up but it hurt. "Stay down. Don't hurt yourself", Dad told me but I didn't listen. I kept on struggling until I achieved my goal. I sat on the bed looking at Dad. Then I remembered what the woman in my dream said. "Ask the man you call father". How did Dad get here? Then I remembered what happened before I passed out. "Da- dad", I said my voice croaking. "Olivia-", I couldn't bare to think of the worst. "She's fine. She's outside. We've been waiting for you to wake up for a couple of days", dad told me, smiling weakly. What?! A couple of days? It didn't feel that long. I got out of bed. When my feet landed on the floor, they are screaming. But I had to check up on her. This time Dad didn't stop me. I went outside and saw Olivia talking to Liam. Thank goodness. They both were alright. They risked a lot trying to save me from those... what were they again. Akelts. Oh yes, akhults. I didn't notice the tears came running down my cheeks alk on their own. Olivia turned her head in the direction of where I was standing and smiled, ear to ear. Liam looked at what she was looking at and hid expression tensed. They ran towards me. Olivia hugged me. "I'm glad you're okay", she said, hugging me tighter. Then she let go but still holding my shoulders. She sported a fresh scar across her left eye. "Aren't you supposed to be in bed", Liam asked, earning a glare from Olivia. Liam's eyes looked blue with a hint of green in the light. Dad came outside and stood with us. "I'm think she's alright", Dad patted me on the back. I couldn't stop thinking about all the gibberish the Queen told me. I built up the courage to ask dad. But wait, what was the witch's name again? "Dad, who's Masoumeh Tavakoli", I asked, looking at him dead in the eye. He's face tightened. Come inside. I guess it's time that you knew.

I laughed like a maniac. I didn't believe what Dad was telling me. I mean, how could I? "Blaire, this is serious", Dad told me for the fifth time now. "Okay. Hold on. So you're telling me that MT-", "It's Masoumeh Tavakoli", Dad corrected me. "Whatever. So you're saying that this woman transfered some of her essence into me because you and Mom were exploring one day and accidentally stumbled upon MT's tomb and disturbed her slumber.  Right". "Correct", Dad nodded. "And I've heard this 'curse' way before Mom gave birth to me, while I was still her womb", I asked and Dad nodded. Then I looked at the Adler siblings. "And they are some sort of guardians. They swore an oath to thwart evil and keep it at bay. And they were here to protect me. "Pretty much", said Olivia proudly. Liam just nodded. "And you're saying that the Queen is here to take back here powers from me", I laughed. "Blaire-", Dad started but I interrupted him. "Dad this is new to me. Here you are, coming to me after a number of years of you being MIA and you feed me all of this. And that the Queen will decide to rise on the anniversary of her death and end the world and pledge it into darkness filled with horrific monsters. And I'm the only one in her way", I said laughing again. I looked like an idiot. "Blaire, I was on the run. Masoumeh sent her monsters after me. That's when your mom decided to... get divorced", when he said the word 'divorce', his voice croaked. My hear broke. I never knew why the got divorced and Dad says this. The Adler siblings both shared a confused expression. "What", I asked Dad, trying not to cry. "When you were younger, Masoumeh sent her monsters to get you. You mother and I were always on the run. We could settle in a place for not longer than a day. We did some more research about The Queen. Then Phoebe came along. That's when your mother got fed up with the whole thing. She couldn't take it anymore. We got divorced and thought it was best of the two of you went with your mother. She took you kids to a place where monsters were not allowed in. I had to confuse the monsters and let them chase me and leave you guys alone". When Dad was done explaining, he rest his head on his hands. A tear ran down my cheek. No wonder no one knew about their divorce. People would've thought that they were bonkers. The way they were never able to talk to each other. Dad sacrificed himself so we can live normal lives. "But why did Masoumeh transfer her powers to me", I asked trying not to cry. "Her powers were fading. You see, Masoumeh didn't actually die. She is immortal. Her soul lived on but she couldn't take a physical form.  Only in dreams. Her powers needed to survive in a host. And you were the victim", Liam told me. I was stunned. I've never heard him say more than 5 words at once. "Wait, Dad. You said that the monsters were after you and you couldn't settle at a place for a long time. How come we're still here", I asked him. I didn't want to torture him by asking a lot of questions but I had to know. He raised his head from his hands. "There is a barrier of holy salt around the cabin. But it won't hold them for long. I processed his words then ran outside. I looked at the cabin. It was the one from my dream. I started crying again.
