9 - New Beginnings

Esther woke up in the hospital.

Sitting up, she groaned as she opened her eyes. The world felt woozy before her and she quickly shut her eyes.

"Finally awake, you okay babe?, what do you need?".

"Water", Esther replied at once.

The person quickly got her water to drink.

"How you feeling?".

"What happened?, what am i doing here?", she asked instead.

"You fainted, you've been sleeping for two days. Everyone has been worried sick most especially your fiance, he w-".

"My fiancé?", Esther looked at Dublin with a confused look.

"Yeah. Oooh i thought you stopped denying him but i guess not. Anyway, i meant the handsome man your dad wants you to marry. I mean if you ask me, he's so hot and cute and i don't know why you don't like him. I don't even know Daquan's problem with it like he wants to marry you. Look at it, even Chris doesn't mind but either way, your dad said you're g-", Dublin ranted on.

Esther couldn't focus on what the teenager beside her was talking about.

She stared at the girl.

"What?", Dublin stared back.

"Who are you?".

Dublin looked behind her.

Then she looked at Esther before she looked behind her again.

She then did a 360 on the chair before she looked back at her.

Dublin pointed a finger at herself with an exaggerated 'are you serious' look.

Esther nodded.

"Who are you?", she asked again.

"Your fairy godmother. No no no, I'm your long lost cousin and you owe me seventeen years of birthday presents".

"And oh, Christmas presents too", she gave Esther a big smile.

Esther giggled.

Just then, Elias, Daquan and Christian came in.

"Caramel", Elias rushed to her at once and kissed her making Daquan roll his eyes but Esther bit his lip.

"Fuck!", he screamed, jumping back in surprise.

Daquan just smirked.

"Firstly, this lady just told me I've been sleeping for two days meaning i haven't brushed my teeth, it's not hygienic to kiss".

"Oh wow", Christian mused and Dublin laughed.

"Secondly, do i know you?".

"I know we ain't on good terms but yuh really gonna do me like that?".

"Proud of you, Es", Daquan smirked and Elias glared at him.

Esther shook her head in disagreement.

"Actually, do i know all of you?".

Five minutes later, they had all gathered around the doctor.

"When she fainted, did she hit her head on something?", the doctor asked.

"No, the attendant said she just fell to the ground after she screamed", Elias replied.

"As a shock of something she must have heard or seen right?".

Elias nodded.

"Well, the memory loss might be due to shock that traveled to the brain. Must have caused the brain to have shut off. By the way, does she have any history of brain trauma?".
