"Will you be my girlfriend?"

What's going on with his mind?

"No." She replied, staring at his blue eyes. Hearing her response made him show no emotions at all.

"I said no." She repeats, hoping he'll absorb her words. Is she doing the right thing?

"Honestly, that is not the response I wanted to hear but never mind."

"Naruto..."

Yes, she's scared since this setup is a rush! She knew, in the future, this will break them apart and so, she needs to take things slow.

"Forget it. I ain't feeling any romantic emotion towards you anyway."

His pride won't take the loss. It pains his guts as a man. Damn! How could she reject him like that?

"It's not what you think it is." Her voice cracked. She's hurting deep inside and she wants him to feel the frustration too. "We're engaged and that's why I'm doing this." She explained further.

"I don't understand you. You're weird."

"But I like you. I like you so much!" She screams with all of her. Her tears drip yet she doesn't give a single damn no matter how cringy it is!

But, is it even wrong to confess something which is already obvious? She's been into him from the very beginning! She only sees him and no one else!

Too bad this set-up is one-sided. It hurts...freaking hurts her pride.

Suddenly, her eyes widened to realize his warm embrace covers her body. "I have to admit you're right. We're engaged."

Her face focuses on his chest, feeling how his heart beats faster. Oh, my gawd! His scent―it's too addicting!

"I don't know but I hate seeing you cry. You're making weird faces and it bothers me a lot." He said hugging her still. His statement made Hinata smile unconsciously. Ugh! This man means everything to her! Damn romance!

"You're an idiot!" She whispered.

"I'm sorry..."

"You know I like you that's why you're playing with my feelings!"

"..."

"Baka!"

"It's alright."

Ugh! Even his simple words melt her heart so much!

"Sasuke-kun," Sakura exclaimed, offering the man the patch for his wounds. "Maybe this can help―"

"I don't need it, thanks."

What is wrong with him? She just wanna offer generosity! She tightened her fist and crumpled the band-aid. She's upset about how he's treating her. It's not fair!

No, she can't give up. Not yet. No matter how cold his heart is, she will always find a way to warm it up because she cares for him. And the most obvious explanation...

Suddenly, her body collided with someone the moment she made her turn to the intersection. Hush descended the atmosphere between them. She almost outbalances but the man is fast enough to catch her.

"Sorry. Let me help you." Naruto suggests extending his arms to assist the pink-haired. Everything went in slow motion according to her perspective. She looks up to confirm the owner of such mesmerizing voice.

And the most obvious explanation? It's because she loves him...

"You alright?" He asks, confused about her behavior. The woman blinks twice, zooming out as to why she had the thought exactly at Naruto? How weird!

"I...I'm fine! Bye!" She said, running away to hide her crimsoned cheeks.

It's dusk, dull, and quiet. Hinata's hair dances as the swish of wind move them simultaneously. They are advancing their feet going home since Naruto suggests taking her to her compound first.

She walks behind him, shy, literally, not knowing what to do. Memories of them together locked in his bathroom flash randomly. It made her blush and makes the butterflies go wild!

His lip is intriguing! She wants to feel him again. Oh, goodness! The fact that she rejected him earlier made her action, unreasonable.

"Look who's smiling for no reason." He said, cutting her train of thoughts.

"I remembered something that's why."

"Really? Mind sharing?"

She looks away feeling embarrassed. Ugh! His gaze, it's so sexy for some reason.

"Weird." He exclaimed.

She just smiles, approaching his place yet she aims to move forward leaving the man behind.

"Hey." He said calling her attention.

"What?"

"I want to hold hands with you."

Silence

"..."

"I said let's hold hands."

She blinks twice, terrified. What?

"Okay..."

The deafening city noise ruled the background although it sounded almost like a whisper in the phantom night. They continued walking, hands intertwined as if he plans not to let her go soonest.
