Present Time
He is once again trapped inside the gloomy room, blinding his sight with his palm. The area is now messy. His clothes were scattered everywhere. The bedsheets look filthy. The desk is arranged terribly and the window is covered with dust.
It has been years since he isolates himself from them. It has been a while since he moved to another place, and it has been years since he talked to her—Hinata.
He moved to Yokohama just about 20 miles southwest of Tokyo. Since then, he heard none about her. As he looks outside, he can't help but shed heavy tears every time the raindrops pour ceaselessly. It seems to accompany him and his despair.
That's right, maybe he deserved this. Maybe he deserves this pain. He deserves this torture. He deserves this misfortune. He deserves every calamity.
Later on, the main door opened revealing Sakura's presence. She made herself comfortable and went to the kitchen to put the grocery she bought for him. She sighs a relief, seeing how messy his apartment tortures her heart so much. If she could just take the pain away then she would.
Silence
It took her fifteen minutes to clean the kitchen and his sofa. When she's done, she prepared the food he needed.
"Baby..." She called him as she opened the door to Naruto's gloomy room. "Hey, I am here." Her voice is sweet taking the vibe between them lightly. She saw him lying on the bed blinding his sight with his palm. He is in bad shape. She was here just the day before yesterday and this room isn't as chaotic as this. Sakura breathes heavily. She hates how he became like this. He hates how he turned out to be like this. It hits her pride. It is damaging. Having a doubt, she put the hot soup right next to his bed. "Hey...is everything alright?"
"I thought I can but I was wrong. I can't even do simple things. I'm lost."
"It's okay. You don't need to push yourself badly."
"What brings you here?" He asks still not looking at her.
The pink-haired curve a beam. "What's with that question?" She walks until she reaches the edge of the bed and helps herself sit right beside him. "Today's work is tough. But I remembered you so I want to check if you're fine," she caressed his hand telling him he is not alone. He will never be alone anymore because she's here. She won't leave. She won't go anywhere.
"I prepare food for you."
"I'm sorry for being a bastard, Sakura..."
She lies beside him. She can't help but pity him over and over. "Naruto, let's eat. Is it okay?"
Silence
After countless self debates, he finally opened his eyes but stared at the ceiling for too long. He squeezes the hand that touches his hand because this is his one way of telling her Thank you for everything you did, Sakura...
"Alright, let's eat," he said but before he could reach for the food, the woman wrapped her hands around his neck as she helps herself sit on him. It felt like, the world stops for a second. He stares at her eyes as to how she does to him as well.
"I miss you." She murmurs while brushing his hair gently.
"I thought we'll eat."
"Maybe, you can eat something else."
Suddenly, they burst laughing which made such an ill-lit atmosphere lively. "You've been working so hard. You deserve a break." He said while smiling.
"Hmmm...I like that."
