Kozume never liked February 14th. All that loving and cuddling and kissing and crap... gross. All he liked about it was the chocolate sale on the days after. But, his loving husband Kuroo Tetsuro forced him to like the corporate holiday. Since their first Valentine's day together, Tetsuro had tried his absolute best to ensure that Kozume felt loved and appreciated and whatever else he was supposed to feel. Kozume loved the effort, he really did, but the man always protested-- whether it be whining about putting on nice clothes to go out to dinner or accepting fancy presents from his one and only-- he made sure Tetsuro knew how displeased he was with the holiday and the pampering that came with it.
Every year the day would start off with Tetsuro bringing his lazy ass breakfast in bed, every year something different from the last. Then they would spend the whole day doing whatever else Tetsuro had set up.
This year, however, started a tad differently...
"Mmmm~" Kozume hummed, slowly gained consciousness and instinctively snuggling back into the warmth surrounding him, morning sunlight bathing his face. Kozume tried to close his eyes and relax once again but the small man was awake now and he wouldn't be going back to sleep with all this sunlight coming through the near-transparent white curtains. Kozume took a deep inhale, getting lost in the smell of cheap cologne and Kuroo Tetsuro. His lips tugged slightly at the familiar body pressed against his back and he stroked the arms surrounding his torso from behind. He loosed his sigh and slowly untangled his slender legs from Tetsuro's firm ones, wanting to get up and stretch and get his phone.
Kozume slowly unhinged one of Tetsuro's hands from the other and lifted the top arm sliding out from his grasp. He sat upon his side of the bed and lifted his arms above his head, scrunching his nose at the relaxing pull of his muscles. He dropped his arms beside him and loosed another deep sigh.
February 14th... he's usually up by now. I guess it's my turn to make breakfast.
Kozume readied himself to stand but before he could, he was semi-aggressively pulled back under the covers and into his lover's arms. Kozume let out a laugh and playfully swatted at the arms surrounding his waist yet again. With one swift motion, Tetsuro spun Kozume around and draped the man over his chest and body. Tetsuro let out a laugh at Kozumes's downturned eyebrows and pursed lips and kissed his husband's forehead.
"Goodmorning, my love," Tetsuro whispered as he connected their foreheads.
"Goodmorning, tall man," Kozume responded, adding pressure against Tetsuro's hairline.
"Tall man, huh? And here I was, thinking you'd be nice to me today," Tetsuro said, unhooking one of his arms from Kozume's lower back and pinching his ear.
"Ow, quit it." Tetsuro released his ear and gingerly rested his hand on the ombre-haired boy's tushy. "And watch your hands, Mister."
Tetsuro gave a light squeeze to the muscle under his hand. Kozume would not have this. The man backed up his head slightly and brought it down, hearing the thok of their foreheads connecting. Tetsuro whined and removed his hand. Kozume smiled triumphantly and rested his chin on his lover's firm chest.
They laid there for a while, simply enjoying each other's presence. Tetsuro ran his fingers through his husband's hair, loving the way Kozumes body didn't exactly fit against his. How Kozume's torso was a tad too big to fill in the dips and curves of his own, how Kozume's legs awkwardly draped over his, how his nose and mouth were slightly too small to fully invade the gap in his clavicle. He adored the way the silent rise and fall of their chests didn't harmonize as they laid there in silence, drinking up each other's touch.
This was what Tetsuro lived for, to be able to hold his favorite person shamelessly, to be able to tell Kozume what he meant to him. And having Kozume reciprocate his feeling gave him butterflies every time he thought about it. He didn't think he deserved Kozumes love, but there they were, on Valentine's day, laying in each other's arms in their shared bed in their shared home.
Tetsuro was pulled out of his loving gaze by Kozume's yawn and the rising hunger that nibbled at his stomach.
"You want me to go make us breakfast?" Tetsuro asked and Kozume lifted his chin once again to meet his lover's eyes.
"I wanna go too," Kenma rolled to the side and landed softly on the mattress surrounding them. Tetsuro stood up and walked to Kozume's side of the bed. Kozume sat himself upright and outstretched his arms towards his man.
Tetsuro let out a sigh and bent down, putting Kozumes arms just under his shoulders and lifting his chest against his own. Kozume tightened his grip on Tetsuro's neck and weaved his legs tightly around his waist, burying his face into the crook of his neck.AUTHORS NOTE
