Danielle was exhausted. She had done several deliveries and was ready to take a well deserved break. But, as much as she just wanted to go rest in her office she rather to go have lunch with Stefania and also fill the unwelcome hunger building up in her stomach. She decided to send Stefania a message to see if she was free for lunch. It was a little after 1:00 PM so she figured she would be free based on pass therapist scheduling. Danielle scrolled through her contact until she saw the brunette's name and quickly typed a quick text.
Danielle: Hey, I'm free for lunch now and starving. Are you free? Let me know. - Danielle.
And Danielle signed the text knowing that Stefania didn't have her number as yet.
It did not take long for Stefania to reply.
Stefania: Hey! I just finished up. Meet me at the elevator?
Danielle : Yea. I'll see you in 5 minutes.
Danielle grabbed a mirror from her purse and checked herself and was thankful that though she had a busy morning it did not reflect in face.
She left her office and made her way to the elevator. Stefania was not there as yet so she quickly sent a message to Jaina who was away in her own office drowning in paper work.
Danielle: About to go have lunch with Stefania. Wish me luck so I don't say something and screw up what has not started as yet.
Jaina: Yayy! All the luck to you Danielle. You'll be fine. Love you. xo.
Danielle smiled at Jaina's response. Her head shot up from her phone when she heard a familiar voice.
"Is it weird that I'm hoping you smiled like that at the phone when I replied to you?" Stefania asked.
"It is definitely not weird and FYI my smile was much bigger than what you just saw.
"Good to know." Stefania could not hide the smile that spread across her face.
They decided that they would go to a café near the hospital instead of eating the cafeteria food at the hospital.
Danielle and Stefania made their way to lunch at the café and were immediately greeted by a young guy. He showed them to a table and they both sat and quickly decided on what they wanted.
"So why did you come to America? Danielle asked and for the first time in anyway acknowledging the brunette's accent.
"I was given an offer I could not refuse a few years back." Stefania started. "I was suppose to leave and go back to Italy after the project was completed but I fell in love and decided to stay. Or at least I thought I was in love. The girl and I grew apart eventually. She was good but I always have this thing where I need to feel a connection with someone. And I thought we had it but we didn't. I realized it was not love and that I was just close to her because she was all I really knew outside of work. So I eventually broke it off. I got out more and met people.. had a few flings. Made friends. I love my job but I admit I have not yet found a reason to permanently stay in Seattle. I do-" Stefania cut herself of. "I'm sorry.. Am I oversharing?"
"No. Not at all." Danielle shook her head "I like a woman who is honest and direct.. it's.. attractive."
Stefania was about to reply when the boy returned with their order. They had both decided on a delicious grilled chicken salad and raspberry iced tea. It was initially Danielle's order and Stefania decided that it sounded good and wanted the same.
"If you need anything else just let me know" The boy said with a smile.
Both ladies nodded and returned a smile as he walked away leaving them to enjoy their meal.
