"you go talk to her! you're the best friend here, not me!" caleb whisper shouts
once they got to sadie's apartment, millie wouldn't speak a word. sadie set up the guest bedroom for millie, knowing it would probably be a long stay.
"fine. should we call finn though?" sadie asks, looking at millie through the half open door
"oh yes definitely, good idea babe. but millie won't talk to him though, right?" he asks
"yes that's true and it's late, she'll probably want some sleep. we can call him over tomorrow? it's a day off for us." she suggests
"ah yes. okay then it's settled, now go talk to her!" he nudges her arm lightly
"okay. you staying the night or what?" she gives him a glance then back at her best friend
"no, you should deal with millie. i'll come by tomorrow, love you." he gives her a kiss as she nods
"alright, drive safe." she smiles as he nods, walking out of the apartment
sadie takes a deep breath before walking into the guest bedroom. she sits down next to millie on the side of the bed.
"so... i have some things set up in the bathroom for you, a toothbrush, a towel and all that. you can stay for as long as you want." sadie tells her softly
millie leans her head on her shoulder, "why is life so hard, sadie?"
sadie sighs, "i don't know, millie."
"i wanna sleep." millie mutters
sadie nods, "okay then. i'll see you in the morning." she kisses her temple as millie sniffles
millie nods, laying down on the bed as sadie stands up, turning off the lights and walking out of the room.

"finn, you need to calm down." sadie and caleb stops him from rushing into millie's room
"first off, millie is still asleep. she's tired so you need to calm down because you rushing in there won't help." sadie scolds him
"yeah man, you need to control your temper." caleb tells him
"fine. i'm calm, i'm calm. tell me what happened then." he sits down by the kitchen island
"we saw millie walking on the highway and... her dad hit her. well i think, she didn't exactly tell me." sadie says
"her dad WHAT!?" finn shouts, slamming his hands on the counter
"finn. it was a assumption, she didn't tell me anything." sadie says softly
"based on?" finn asks, raising a eyebrow at her
"her face." sadie tells him
"i wanna see her." finn whispers
"finn, how many times? she's not awake!" caleb shakes him as he groans
"it's 12pm! i'm still not scolding you for calling me this late!" finn exclaims
"hey at least i called you! i'm pretty sure millie's still mad at you!" caleb exclaims
millie opens the door, "can you guys keep it down? i'm trying to sleep." she asks tiredly before slamming the door shut again
"asleep my fucking ass, caleb!" finn shoves him off of him before running to millie's room
he shuts the door quietly, walking over to the bed and sits on the side.
she gives him a tired glance before turning the other way so her back was facing him.
